Whats been going on at halftime to have our guys coming out so lackluster.

During our recent slump, the third quarter has been the quarter where we have lost controll of the game. We came out good against the Suns and Nuggets with halftime lead and then in the third have gotten dismantled. The defense specifically has been our undoing. Its been a completely different team after halftime. We should try the twin towers after halftime. cuz obviously the opposition is making adjustment to what we're doing in the halftime, so lets add a lil spice and give them a completely new look. Keep em honest.

It's been a problem all year and I feel it's part Mchale and the coaches and the players just taking it slow instead of taking charge. That's the difference between winners and losers. Winners take charge and act, make the opponent play their game and make them their b****; losers sit back, react and go down on their knees bowing to the winner like a b****.

Anyone know where they list the qrtr per qrtr stats? I'd like to see how many teams struggle in the third, is it a league wide trend? I remember Houston had this problem last season too, so McHale may not be the problem.

My guess is that they are smoking dope at the half. At least that is what it looks like. They look really relaxed in the third. Really relaxed.

i think that could improve their performance in the 3rd at least before they crash during the 4th.

It's just mind blowing to see how porous the defense is. Time after time players go right down the middle of the defense uncontested for a layup. Bud is not a good defender and is strictly a 3pt. specialist...when he's on good...when he's not..well it's bad.Scola has a great outside shot but he is NOT posting up..PERIOD.He has no hops.PPat...forget it offensively. He hit the uncontested shot from outside but he is RARELY going to post anyone up successfully.

Gogi is our best threat but we have worn him out. Kyle is not near back yet. KMart could help but he's too busy with his sulking arse on the bench.Wouldn't mind seeing more of Morris...can't be any worse. Things don't look promising.

Adjustments by the other team, and the lack of said adjustments by our team.

McHale should take a **** during the entire halftime and hire a motivation speaker to pump of the team during halftime. Surely doing this even without making any adjustments or talking about the game would help us to play better in the third quarter than WHATEVER McFail is doing!

Worked well for Bobby Knight. Still one of my all-time favorite moments, lmao. Guy was a lunatic, but I bet that motivated his team.

Just a bad timing to have a bad stretch of games......
If it would have happened in the early 20 games.... nobody would have given shet.....

Besides the 3rd quarter let downs it has been the lack of Center to close out the games. Other teams have been feasting off the lack of shot blocker in 4th which leads to more pts in the paint and key offensive rebounds for them.

Everytime the Rockets have had readjust their lineup because of an addition or return of a player they're gotten into a mini-slump.

As JVG says "offense sets up the defense". It's the offense that's been lacking in the 2nd quarter. The Rockets really need a true 7+ footer C who scores at the rim.
