Like a weird combination of "Wrong Turn" and "Truman Show". It'll also be the first 2012 movie of the Whedon-Hemsworth combination, second being "Avengers". Thoughts?
Going to see this tomorrow, as it is apparently one hell of a movie. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_cabin_in_the_woods/ Currently beasting at 92% with 131 reviews.
Reminds me of Drag me to Hell. Looked stupid, sounded stupid, was surely going to be stupid, but managed to win critics over.
In a way, yes. Although this is supposedly a good mindf*uck movie. The kind you have as much fun discussing afterward as you do watching it.
I want to see it, but I have a hard time suspending disbelief with certain things, like the invisible force field from the previews that kills things. I know this is dumb because I can enjoy other sci-fi silliness, but for some reason, I think this part is going to bother me greatly.
Went to the premiere March 9th for SXSW. Great Q&A w/ Joss and Goddard afterward. Loved it enough to see it again with other friends later this weekend. You guys will really enjoy it. It's not parodic really, but manages to walk the line between funny and scary in that the funny doesn't cheapen the scary.
