how can you make that sort of assumption when most of those guys are so young? Yea we can pass judgement on Nash and Kidd because they've been in the league forever, but this is a stupid thread no offense.

Rondo won't make it, very good player whose stats have been bolstered by playing with three future HoFers. Not an all star caliber player, certainly not on the year in year out basis it takes for HoF status.

Whoever voted that Chris Paul wont make it is an idiot. I'm sorry. He'll probably be first ballot. Though, his flopping makes him hated, he has ice in his veins.

There is really no chance that any of those players won't make it safe for Grant hill like injury.

I have to say the standards for making the hall of fame seem a little low if it is debatable that all of these guys can go in. 8/30 starting point guards at one time possibly all make it? Might as well let anyone who is a starter for 7 years go in

Its early but will Rubio, Wall, and Irving be in the discussion as well?

    Way too early.
Rubio so far has been all-flash. Not really a leader, great player but not HOF-caliber yet.
Wall will not get into the HOF until he cuts through all the BS and losing atmosphere in Washington and leads his team to some victories. He needs to get serious about winning, or alternatively get traded to a team that doesn't suck.
Irving is like the second coming of LeBron, symbolically. If he stays in Cleveland for the rest of his career and becomes the city's second "savior/chosen one", ESPN will hop on his dick and that alone will catapult him.

Am I the only one who sees westbrook as clearly a level below the rest listed?

    At this point --

    Definitely HOFer:

    Kidd
    Nash

Very likely (unless something very bad happens)

    CP3
    Parker

    Borderline/need to do more:

    DWill

Too early in their careers to say:

    Rose
    Rondo
    Westbrook

    LOCKS:
    Nash (two time MVP)
    CP3 (elite throughout career)
    Rose (former MVP)
Kidd (amazing in his prime and still really good)

    MAYBE LOCKS:
Parker (former F-MVP, led some really good teams, still young and entering prime)

    That leaves Williams, Westbrook, Rondo.

Obviously Williams is the best of the three and when he tries (winning teams), he is probably on that same level as CP3/DRose. He may not be a lock now but imo when he gets back on a good team, he will prove that he is.

Westbrook is young and elite now. To make it though, he will have to sustain this for several years to come. He seems like a good kid with a great head on his shoulders, I really think he can do it (as long as he doesn't lose his damn mind, he will imo).

Rondo really has the most to prove imo. He benefits from playing alongside 3 HOFers which really mask of his obvious shortcomings. I'm not sure if he is capable to be on that level. Time will tell but I'm giving him my vote.

I know all the former league MVPs are in the HOF, but I think that if Rose retired today he would not and should not be in the HOF. The kid is only 23 and he needs to do a lot more before he can be considered as a HOF candidate.

Williams if he continues to be on bad teams.... probably

but Rondo... that guy has a championship in his early years

and putting 20 assists...... and triple double all over the place

Most spectacular American PG that was not a lottery pick right now.

Williams and Rondo probably won't. Westbrook is a little too early to tell. Everyone else probably will

i dont understand why people think cp3 is a lock, he is more overrated than kobe imo.. he is not a proven winner and he has not dramatically improved his game since being drafted, he also has not been considered the best point guard for a few years now i think

When Celtics are doing bad it's cause they're old. When Rondo does good it's cause he has 3 HOF teammates.
