    NOT!

Anyone who suggests trading Francis is an absolute idiot in my opinion, look I'm a HUGE Yao fan (chinese too, converted to ROckets fan because of him), but it's easy for me to appreciate the qualities that a Steve Francis brings to a team. It's all about leadership, he doesn't shy away when he screws up, he takes the blame because thats what a leader does. A leader also hits the big 3's that send games into overtime. True, his somewhat suspect shot selection and defense may lead to the defecit in the first place, but he hits the shots when it matters. Francis has heart, anyone can see it with the hard fouls that he takes, and yet still always goes back to the drive because he knows settling for the J is too easy. Maybe he is selfish, but thats the way he should be, because of his role as a leader with all that talent. Mobley is another matter, and I've mentioned in the past I would like to see him moved to another team or maybe to the bench, since I honestly hate his shot selection because he doesn't have Franchise' ability to back it up. Yao is an awesome talent, but Franchise is the leader, and everyone needs to remember that.

If you odn't like my posts, then just ignore them. I'm interested in wathcing basketball and tired of seeing people who just come here to see the newest Yao Ming thread. Is saying blah blah all that you can do? Why not add something productive to the forum? It's my opinion, if you disagree with it, say why, if you don't want to say why, then jus move on to the next Yao Ming thread talking about his hair or his new drop step move, and get your fix there.

BTW Gregonomics, you tell me to stop posting, but you sure seem to know that I've been posting a lot recently, so why you reading them? you have 128 posts as a member, I only have 38, maybe you should take your own advice. If you think everyone's role is to shut up and just read what everyone else is saying and then bi*ch about what they posted, what kind of forum would this be? Get off your high horse, if you don't like me talking about legitimate issues, then just goto another website and stop hitting that refresh button on your browser, since you're obvioulsy reading ALL the posts =)

First I agree with you on one part, we should not trade SF.

Second I am very glad there are some really bb fan instead of Yao-only fans from china.

Last but not least, SF is not a leader, period. He has very very low BB IQ, even hes an amazing player. He could only lead rox to become the same crappy team like heat and griz.

Well, he did lead us to a winning season in only his 2nd year as a an NBA player. But I'm sure that was all athletic ability. Obviously, they just give points to the team who's players jump higher and run faster:rolleyes:

ok.you are right! But as a leader,he should suffer the blame and pressure. And get cheers when team win or get blame if failed. We find a leader to win the game, instead of disappointing us!!!right? If yao is the leader.we will blame him too.

    .
hmmm ok then who on the team do you think brings a leadership ability? I was thinking that Rice would have to be part of that equation because of his championship rings and experience but from my experience watching him in Charlotte and NY, he's a pretty selfish player who can't really do much except drain those 3's. Suggestions anyone? I still think Franchise is a good leader because of the way I see him connecting with his teammates, but if he's not the leader, then would should be?

You think threads talking about Yao Ming only are inane because they talk about only a single player... so you said, hey, let's start one about Steve Francis and his leadership abilities!

Francis is a great player; I love his game, and am ecstatic he's on my fantasy basketball team. But despite the fact that his nickname is "Franchise" he hasn't *PROVEN* anything about his leadership abilities. You talk about the way he connects with his teammates... there are a lot of players popular with their peers out there (uh, anyone on the Trailblazers or the Clippers) that have shown zero ability to act as *LEADERS*.

Leaders aren't just the popular kids. At the end of the day, they have to be able to impart a meaningful strategy or philosophy upon the rest of his team... there has to be some sign that he's actually *leading*. And what hall-mark in today's performance from the Rockets do you want to claim was inspired by Francis' leadership? The (lack of) assists? Off-balanced jumpers?

No way in hell do you trade SF, but no way in hell do you anoint him the leader and core of this franchise. You build the team and see where it is in a month, a year, or maybe more. At some point, this thread could very well be meaningful... Francis hasn't proven yet that it shouldnt' be. (Which is precisely why there are so many of them.)

how in the hell do you people say steve isnt a leader and he has very low basketball iq? some of yall really need to think...there is really no point in arguing with people who think that.

if steve wasn't a leader do you think he would ever want or have the ball in his hands at clutch time? if he wasn't a leader do you think he would help take yao ming under his wing when he 1st came in? if steve isnt a leader then name 10 players in the league that are...i'm sure the only name that will come up is jason kidd because everyone jacks off over jason kidd since it took him like 7 years to put his career together. and whenever steve puts it together i'm sure you people will be talking about how "oh my steve is such a leader i want to have his children". i swear some of you guys just b**** and moan about every little thing a player does wrong and don't freaking realize how good of a damn player francis is and how great his character is too.

When have I ever bashed on Yao only threads? If you're gonna follow me around on the BBS, at least get your info straight. My thread was a response to all the Franchise hatin' out there, and I pointed out some abilities that I thought the haters were overlooking. The ability to connect with your teammates is VERY important, if you think it's not, then you've been playing too much Fantasy basketball. The Blazers arent famous for their on court camaderie last time I checked, and the Clips are a bad team because of the management that they play for, a management that has refused to commit to any of the EIGHT FAs that they have on their roster.

You become Rox fan just because of Yao.
then How many Rox games have you ever seen?
How many Yao's games did you see before?
You know which player better: SF or Yao??
