Honestly this may be the first "Tread left on the tires" guy we have gotten that actually helped a lot.

Camby has been amazing, his intelligence is such a breath of fresh air and now Dally can just go balls out and if he gets fouls, he gets em, big deal.

It is GREAT to not have Scola or PPat in at the 5 any more...

    WHEW !

Hey, and you can bet Luis and Pat enjoy not having to struggle there. I think this is huge for Scola. Yeah, it helps Patterson, as well, but he's still learning. And Luis doesn't have to jump center any longer! I love Rick Adelman, but I could never understand why he subjected Scola to the humiliation of jumping center, with him winning the tip about every 50 games, if that. Heck, I would have prefered Chase jumping center. Now we win nearly every damn one, and I like it! Having two actual effective big men helps everyone's defense. Neither one is Dwight Howard, but to this I reply with a favorite quote from one of the finest group of rockers on the planet:

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
    You just might find
    You get what you need

My perspective is this (although some of it others have already said):

When we had Chuck and Yao was out, our lack of size in the middle was a glaring deficit. Its not that the combo of Hayes/Scola/Pat didnt have areas they did well in. But as I see it, the 1,2 & 3 positions had to make-up for that deficit (primarily defensive) and just couldnt. It seemed I watched our disparity (points given up in the paint) as a hurdle that we had to check in nearly every game. We had to overwhelm our opponents with our guard play in order to win. Not to mention we were not getting great offensive production from the 3 either.

Now, we are at least even in the middle compared to the league. A bit better than some, but not overwhelmed by any either. We dont have to have career games every night from our guards to win. We dont have to put sooo much effort into help defense just to be respectable defensively.

We can hold our own in an area of the game where it was a given weakness. This is a crucial difference since last year. Its also a difference that may constitute a team poised for a first round upset IF we can get healthy and get into the playoffs.

I dont think SA or OKC would choose for playing the Rockets in the first round if we are at full strength. I am not predicting an upset. But I am saying we are a bit of a sleeper team. And could make some noise.

Nobody likes to play against us. Camby and Sam are beasts under the boards, Parsons and Lee are tough defenders and Dragic and Lowry have their hands everywhere.Mix this with our team effort and you have mean team.

Camby is the epitome of the type of player that I want on this team. His impact has been tremendous!

Thank you, Marcus Camby! You are truly a great team player!
