Its disheartening that some superstars are forcing coaches to lose their control of the team and getting them fired.. Some1 please console my woes
It's all well and good if Dwight doesn't want to work for SVG, but he and management should just go ahead and make a change rather than doing all this namby pamby stuff.
Win win. We trade for him, he stays, we can start seriously contending. We trade for him, he leaves, we suck enough for a high pick.
I have tons of respect for anybody who can listen to SVG talk for more than 30 seconds without strangling him, let alone 5 years.
I agree. He went from being a humble Christian presumably good guy to a self-absorbed ass with a baby mama who's on basketball wives. I have lost a ton of respect for this guy. That said though, I'd still love to have him in Houston.
It would be interesting to see the dynamic between Kevin McHale and Dwight. McHale doesn't give into the superstar shenanigans like other coaches, so I wonder how Dwight would handle that.
He would slap the **** outta Dwight leaving 3 championship ring imprints on his face if Dwight gave him lip.
If Dwight is worth 2 cents, McHale would get his attention. McHale got Garnett's attention and developed him from a skinny high school brat into a legit superstar. Of course, Garnett had the drive and tenacity. I'm pretty sure McHale would have Dwight's attention.
Kind of like D Wade; I guess we can see how Tebow fairs. Will the "world" corrupt him too? Rich, famous, young- that is a boatload of temptations. Not certain I could survive that with my character intact.
He was frustrated on a few occasions because, yes Eaton was a big shot blocking center, but more so because the Jazz used to double and triple him in the post & malone and stockton used to cheap shot Dream by hacking him. Age: 36
I really dislike Dwight Howard. That said, I reserve the right to change my opinion if hell indeed froze over and he came to Houston. Call it the homer clause.
So... I asked Jonathan Feigen how close the Rockets got with Orlando back at the trade deadline. Here's his reply:
Lose a handful of quality players for Dwight Howard and a very likely non-title appearance. He doesn't want to come to Houston, he probably would've sat out the rest of season and asked for a trade or something.
