Definitely agree with Kemp. A lot of Griffins dunks are those slap ins and he does need to be on the run then the ball passed to him before he elevates. Kemp could do it from coast 2 coast, beat his man from top of the key, beat his man from the baseline, way better at creating for himself and way better at beating opponents on the ground before he beats them in the air - not to mention his dunks were just titanic. I dont think Blake can beat too many guys on the ground one on one.
My deepest, darkest secret... I owned a Kemp jersey at one point in my life. I burned that jersey, not kidding, after the 96 4-0 sweep. Forgive me.
Kemp. If you can't even average 1 block a game with all those hops, then they are only worth half their value.
[This is where Stromile Swift has forever ruined the standard of "dunking prowess". Because you'd LIKE to associate dunking skill as A TALENT, and not just a single attribute. ] Shawn Kemp has better dunking TALENT, Blake Griffin more dunking ABILITY, if that makes sense. Shawn Kemp harnessed his ability to dunk better. Griffin has some better facials. Kemp had a better ARRAY of dunks. More hard to get alley oop catches, reverses, pumps, that kind of thing. I think Blake Griffin has some of the sickest BOUNCE in the NBA ever. But the Reign Man was so flambouyant, passionate and FUN with his dunks.
Kemp was blocked by dream 3 times in a row! Can anybody post that footage? I sware i remember that occuring??
Blocked him twice and then Kendall Gill for some reason thought it would be a great idea to go inside after. Its in this vid- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luF-e5oPi5k 2:35 mark
