Of course, but the difference is in whom you think makes the team better.

lol, seriously? Thats awful logic. When Lowry was playing, Dragic was coming off the bench. When Dragic was starting...Fortson and Boykins were playing minutes behind him. Dragic was overplayed and our PG backup was awful.

of course play was better when we had BOTH of our good PGs.

Why is this even a debate? Lowry's conditioning won't be up to par with starters until next year, and by then Dragic will have signed elsewhere. All this arguing and these repetitive statements are for not. Llull will come over next year and people will start clamoring for him to start, it's just a cycle.

Yes, of course, that was my position from the start, they both deserve to start and they both hinder each other to a point if you play them together.

Lowry is an excellent pg and Goran is proving to be a capable starter and will command a starting spot and money from a team. It's natural progression for him and he'll undoubtedly pursue it if it's offered to him. That is the only way for him to furtherly progress and grow as a player.

Portland and Toronto fans are raving about him.
Tough times for the rockets management.

They should have locked him up with an extension earlier in the year.

What had he shown before these last 20 games that looked so spectacular that Daryl would break his own philosophy of no extensions mid-season?

Agree 100% with OP. Dragic plays better when he starts and Lowry will be better when he comes off the bench.

We are 5 and 5 in our last 10. That is not our best basketball of the season. Sorry, the only thing that matters is our record.

5 and 5 in the last 10 games is the best basketball all year? We are just treading water to stay at the last playoff spot.

I guess he should have been able to evaluate it in practice or in earlier games, that is what he is paid to do.

It wasn't logical to do it, what if he extends him and Lowry doesn't get hurt? Now we have money tied up in a back-up while Llull could be getting brought over for cheap and that money could go elsewhere. Bottom line is Dragic is leaving in the off-season and it doesn't bother me one bit, he'll get overpayed by somebody who needs a starter and Dragic will go where he can start.

I was trying to explane this so many times before, but some people are just 2dumb to understand... like talking to 5yr kids:rolleyes:

As much i like Lowry, I would rather see Dragix as start and Lowry as 6th man...
There's nothink working to be 6th man... (ask Iverson :p )

I love the excuse makers for our front office.

Their JOB is to find talent and make the team better, anyone can find it after a player breaks out, the better ones find it BEFORE it breaks out! Lowry isca great example but lately the FO is missing out.

We are talking about locking players into extensions and recognizing talent before they break out.

Both Dragic and Parsons have now broken out, wouldn't you say?

    This is too much.

They drafted and traded for Parsons, Dragic, Budinger, Lowry, Landry, Brooks, Lee before they were good, this is clearly an indication that they find players BEFORE they break out. Lately the organization is not missing out. See the rookie rankings thread where our second round pick is ranked higher than multiple top five lottery picks by other teams.

They have a clear cut strategy for approaching contract situations which so far has caused zero bad contracts to be paid and losing very few players due to lack of extension. The bottom line is this is not a keeper team, this is a team that is floating trying to trade its pieces for a big piece. Once we have that big piece, thats when you start locking in players on long term contracts.

How you can be critical of this aspect of the organization is beyond me.
