Your point is absolutely irrelevant. Reason #1) Different Era. Reason #2) Different Rules (see hand check rules). Players like Jordan, Zeke, Gary Payton, Kevin Johnson, John Stockton, Penny and Tim Hardaway etc would've absolutely killed it even harder than they did. Reason #3) Back to the whole different era thing.... The Era Stockton played in 90's was the best in terms of being an era loaded with TRUE Superstars, Great teams, tough blue collar guys, hard fouls and none of that flopping BS that is oh so common today. Now of course Nash played in this era as well and he wasn't ****. To further prove my point. In the 1995 season the league was so stacked that Drexler and Olajuwon were only good enough for ALL NBA 3rd team. Fast forward a decade later in 2005 where the league is watered down and the hand check rule is really implemented and Steve Nash wins the MVP (TWICE) with sorry ass lines of 15.5 PPG/11.5 APG and 18/10.5 not so respectively the next year. All while being a statue on the defensive end of the ball.
Maybe not in the Era Stockton played in but I'm pretty damn sure if you fast forwarded time and placed a prime Stockton with the rule change and all on the Suns... he could've done the same thing Nash did without Amare and he would've won the MVP just like Nash did all while playing better D. Also, Malone >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Amare. Malone is the 2nd best PF of all time.... Amare? He was ROY once upon a time?
the way it was presented, it was like the gap between nash and stockton's shooting (which was pretty small) was comparable to the gap of their respective defense (which is about the size of the grand canyon).
I nearly stabbed my hand with a pencil I have near me to stop me voting for Stockton, but I did it anyways (and I have a little lead that I have to get out of my hand now). Stockton was a little b*tch and someone I'd love to see on the street so I can kick him in the balls for that 3 he made against us, but the guy was easily the better player. Now if Nash had done in Dallas (likely would've won a couple of titles) what he has done the last 10 years or so (or even managed to get 2 titles or so with PHX), this might be a different argument entirely. That said, glad Nash wasn't this could in Dallas, would hate for them to have any kind of Dynasty, they can have their 1 lucky title. And it is extra nice that Stockton and Malone never won anything.
What the hell are you talking about? FG% includes every shot that's taken on a basketball court, minus free throws. 3 point FG% is a separate statistic, but every 3 pointer that's taken in the NBA is included in a players overall FG%. What other shooting stat would you like me to provide to prove a point? The overall FG% covers everything, so with the exception of maybe the FT%, which Nash is better at, there's not another shooting stat that proves Nash is a better shooter than Stockton. You seem to forget that Utah always shot the least amount of 3's per game than any team in the NBA, which is why Nash more than doubles the amount of 3point attempts per game. The only shooting stat I can provide that compares apples to apples is the overall FG% (and like I said, FT% which Nash is better).
Nash the best offensive PG in NBA history, but Stockton is the NBA's all time leader in steals, assists, and flops.
