Olajuwon got dunked on the same way, but he became one of the best blockers ever. Two of the Griffin's dunk were offensive fouls, he elbowed on the first and went over the back on the second. D.Stern is smiling, he loves posterizing plays, he doesn't care about players who is stale and boring.
I disagree. Would love to see K Love take an elbow like that from Griffin. First one offensive foul and all, but it looked amazing at the way he was able to dunk it
you guys would complain about the nba being a women's league if those "infringements" were called as fouls. what would you guys rather see, a soft semi-phantom offensive foul and a lame over the back? or two monstrous slams on one of the most hated players in the league?
I agree it was definitely an offensive foul but you seriously think Blake should have gotten a technical for pushing Pau down on the dunk? If he did it after the dunk yes I could see but him extending his arm on the dunk is no different from a player dribbling and pushing off. If they gave Blake a tech for that then they would have to give every player that pushed off in any situation a tech.
He just elbowed Gasol straight in the face. That was actually nasty. Blake should have been called for foul 4 sure How come Bynum was out of the picture and no where near the rim in both occasions. Can anyone smell that? Whats that smell? I smell pu$$y. I credit Gasol for taking on the challenge.
First one was an obvious offensive foul and not impressive to use leverage and push yourself up. Compare it to Tmac's dunk on Bradley and see how a proper off-arm should work. Second one I would give a little more leeway as Pau barely started jumping when the contact was made. Yes the there was contact, but I think Griffin has the ball already at that point.
Got Daaaaaaamn! Rough night, Pau? The first one is clearly offensive foul but the crowd reaction dictate what the ref can blow or not to blow the whistle The 2nd one could be call over the back but he was coming in on the right side of paul with the ball in his hand right before the contact Still a typical night for Blake Griffin who had a -16 +/- last night. Not surprising. The Clippers will take the next step, when Blake Griffin takes the next step. Did anybody catch this? ESPN Guy: Clippers look to get a spark from Nick Young, who was the leading scorer on the Wizards. JVG: Yeah but that's like saying you're the best swimmer on the Titanic.:grin: Oh jvg you so witty
the first one is definitely an offensive foul- that was a dangerous play and shouldn't be allowed. The putback is something I'm willing to ignore because Blake did beat everyone to the ball simply by elevating- it wasn't until after he had the ball and was moving towards the hoop that he ran into Pau. Of course, Pau will exaggerate any contact he receives, so he made that look worse than it was. The flopping might also be why Pau didn't get the call on the other dunk. In real time, it happened so fast that the refs might not have caught it and assumed that Pau was acting when he really did get hammered.
Doesn't matter if Gasol was in the circle, because he jumped to contest the shot. That off arm was an offensive foul no doubt.
Second one should not be a foul IMO because nobody put a body on him. If you aren't boxing him out you have no right to complain. But Blake is still a douche and I would love to see someone give him what he has coming for his antics (ie a punch in the face).
the first is a clear offensive foul, its easy to dunk on someone if u elbow him. The second one i dont think its a foul, both where nasty.
