Payment Incentives for Lottery Playoffs That's a lot of money! At least 2.5 million for starters and 2 million for 8 bench players. I'm guessing though more than likely getting a top lottery pick and additional games played revenue would be worth it.
this would make teams such as the rockets and knicks choose to barely miss the playoffs so they can be practically be a 1 seed in the "non playoff team playoff"
That is exactly right. When the incentive is greater to get into the lottery and win a superstar rather than go into the playoffs, those teams are going to tank. You have just created a situation where the have nots and even at more of a disadvantage than before. Hell for anthony davis, I want the grizzlies to tank.
