True, but it takes a good in-pass to start with, concerning the fronting.

when u are fronted, it's up to the guard to lob the ball 2 you. what skill are you talking about? step in front of the guys who's fronting u? with Yao's height, I don't think he need to do that, just hold he position, should be able to get the ball if the pass is right.

Yes, he did get defended very well and it may have taken him time to adjust (0 FGA in the first quarter). But besides throwing the ball over the top of the defender (something that seems very easy for a receiver who's 7'5"), the passer can also swing the ball around, allowing Yao to set up position on the other block and receive the ball before his defender can front him. Too often, our players decide its Yao or nothing...with nothing meaning that they jack up the shot.

Gave you a hint: it is taking over the game and leadership.

yao sent caron bulter to the hardwood

    Anyone saw that play
bulte drove and hesitated as he saw yao coming through
hoping to get rewarded with the foul
sure he did......he faked yao and yao jumped up ....on his way down...yao, realizing not to give away a potential 3 point play.....hammered bulter.
bulter lying on the floor for about 15-20 minutes to gather up

    i guess...next time.....caron would be smarter

also....i remembered one played that caron wanna be on the SportsCentral.......challenging yao and tried to dunk over him......
yes....he'll sure be the highlight reel....being the victim of one of the 5 blocks

    way to go....yao

yao blocked bulter dunked attempt as he challenged the big guy
and on one play...he sent bulter hard on the floor

I guessed yao also surfed the net and noticed bulter not mentioning him in his chat conducted by NBA

also, Yao cracked brian grant's shoulder....literally.

good job.....u deserved a big round of applause

people must stop b****ing about yao's shots tonight. grant played him extremely physically and yao often had trouble getting position anywhere inside 18 feet. i guess we could've just handed the ball to him, then had him realize that's out of his range, and since he can't go around grant just hand it back to someone else. then when grant fronted him it wasn't like there was no help coming from behind. any pass would've needed to be quite accurate and probably would've only resulted in a double team and a pass out and a start all over type situation. when yao did get it he had trouble making moves and lost it a few times (although he seemed to get hammered a lot too, damn refs). yao ain't perfect yet guys. he may get there, but he isn't yet. yao did not have good position all night thanks to grant being physical and fouling a lot but getting away with it. it happens and it will happen until yao gets stronger. i'm sure there were a few times it could've gone to yao more but anyone who saw this game and thinks yao should've been given it enough for 15 shots or so simply wasn't watching the same game i was. many people in chat after the game seemed to agree with this sentiment, that it was just damn good D and an inability to get position inside.

as for people complaining about Cat, he was the player of the game easily to me. he was all over jones the whole game and was still all over him when jones just decided to go crazy. then he still was penetrating and hitting big shots all night (that tip to himself for the attempt and foul on the other end was great), and he did it all on a hurt foot. he was superb. he should've been shooting a lot tonight. as for steve, he just seems so much less comfortable than earlier in the season. i hope it's just adjusting to a new offense with yao and that eventually he'll get out of it. and whatever is up with the ft's, please get it out of your system. but whatever is up with quarter-ending and game ending 3's (3 against memphis, 2 tonight i think) please keep it in there. man that 3 made a horrible night become suddenly better.

AND EG!!!! finally. he was HUGE on the glass in the first half and that putback in OT was also huge. also was a terror on blocks.

yao too, thank you for swatting butler's dunk attempt and grant's putback to force the 24 sec vio. all huge plays. also the clinching ft's. great game from a lot of people i thought tonight. way too much b****ing.

I loved that Butler was trying to go for a poster dunk on Yao and got thrown to the ground. The iceing on the cake was how the entire Miami bench got up thinking he was going to do it only to have to sit back down again after the rejection. Put a grin on my face ear to ear.

oh and F*** you refs for almost single-handedly losing this for us. that out of bounds call with about 6 seconds left was the just the cherry on top of a crapload of bad calls. jones had two hands in cat's chest all night and didn't get a foul until OT. grant nailed cat when he came around a pick with no call. grant fouled ming all night with few calls. stepania hit ming's arm on a shot with no call. ming got two ticky-tack fouls on drives by the heat. there were so many, i lost track after a while. maybe rudy should make a "the refs hate me" speech sometime. it seems to work real well.

and thank you pat riley for not fouling ming on steve's 3 even though it was the most obvious thing in the world. we have no timeouts and are in no position to get fouled, foul again, then have to go the length of the court after that. we would've have definitely lost if he fouled ming on the inbounds. especially since that play requires ming to hold it for a long time before handing to steve and miami should've just seen that play since we ran it against memphis and it worked. man i'm glad they didn't foul.

We lost two in a row then barely crawled our way out against one of the crappiest teams. Something is wrong.

Normally I'm very happy when we win but today I feel worried despite this win. The team seems to have learned absolutely nothing from their mistakes. The same old mistakes, bad decisions, poor shots, missed free throws,an unbelieveable collapse to 3 down before a buzzer beater to take us into overtime.Fortunately we were able to gut it out in overtime. When will the guards ever learn to trust themselves to make the right decisions and play defense? They don't trust their own judgment to penetrate and dish to the frontcourt especially Ming which leads to the inevitable collapse time and time again.
I just don't think that they will learn anything from this game and continue with their same old ways against the Pacers.
Rudy's attitude of What the Hell happened didn't work when we had the Dream,Chuck, and Pippen. He has got to get tougher on the younger guys when they go into ISO mode and keep on reinforcing them to get the team involved in tight situations and for everyone to play on both ends which will make it easier for them to win.
