- Draft Austin Rivers with the 16th pick. - Resign Courtney Lee, Goran Dragic, & Marcus Camby. - Trade Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, & Marcus Morris to the New Jersey Nets for Deron Williams. - Trade Kevin Martin to the Utah Jazz for Al Jefferson. - Waive Samuel Dalembert. Depth Chart PG Deron Williams / Goran Dragic SG Courtney Lee / Austin Rivers SF Chandler Parsons / Chase Budinger PF Patrick Patterson / Donatas Motiejunas C Al Jefferson / Marcus Camby
Rockets get: Gortat Phoenix gets: Lowry scola Dallas pick portlands pick Portland gets: Nash Dalembert Something like that
<=> we keep Lee & Dragic I don't see the Jazz letting go of Jeffreson & Millsap on the same day We keep Scola and put in Patterson - they keep Millsap and put in Favors http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=d2xaa7w -Evens up the trade and money, too. -No need for Dalembert or Camby next year with Favors as the back-up center (money saved) -If Jeffersons walks (FA 2013) or is traded we have a Favors at the 5 (Smith as back-up) -Room for Donatas Motiejunas(PF) & Sergio Llull(SG&PG) over-all I like it going forward
The loss of leadership from trading Scola is eliminated by adding Garnett and retaining Camby. More length, youth and/or athleticism is added at every position. The team is deeper, more athletic, and more championship/playoff mentality/success. Definitely added more intangibles and toughness.
Didn't read through the entire thread, so I don't know if these have been mentioned or not, but: I would give up Scola and Martin to the Kings in exchange for Demarcus Cousins and Marcus Thorton. Not exactly an even trade so there would have to be some other pieces involved on our end to sweeten the deal(maybe Budinger, Patterson and/or picks), but I believe Cousins is a superstar in the making and would flourish under Mchale's guidance. And having one of the best post players of all time as a coach might just help with Demarcus' attitude problems(the same problems that slightly lower his market value and make this a real possibility IMHO). As for Thorton, he can be one of the most explosive scorers in the league and I believe he would be great coming off the bench. Thoughts?
Rockets trade: Lowry Martin Dallas Pick Suns trade: Gortat Telfair Childress Since Nash is gonna bolt this summer this gives the Suns some pieces to rebuild with
Prey on Phoenix's desperation to acquire players who can convince Nash to re-sign. Maybe you have to sweeten the pot a bit more, but it might be worth the gamble, because Phoenix is going to SUCK in 2014, whether because Nash is still playing but is age 40, or because he's retired. Added bonus: Takes Phoenix off the market for Dragic. Maybe the opportunity will present itself to trade for a top 3 pick on draft day, too, using our tons of draft picks and/or Lowry/Scola.
Rockets trade- Lowry, Ppat, Morris, Dallas pick Get- Favors, Burks Jazz trade- Favors, Burks get- Thomas, Evans, Kings 2014 1st, Dallas pick Kings trade- Thomas, Evans, 2014 1st (top-5 protected through 2017) Get- Lowry, Morris, Ppat, Would you guys do this move after this season if we can at least sign Gogi back? Dragic/ vet pg/Fortson Lee/ Burks/ Martin (likely to be moved via trade or amnesty) Parsons/ Bud Scola (future amnesty candidate)/ Donatas/ Smith Favors/ Camby (if signed back)/ Dally (possibly wavied) Future would be looking very bright!
If I put my non-homer glasses on. Probably replace Parsons with PatPat and the Knicks pick, and the Kings do that.
