After watching this guy stumble about aimlessly on defense, only to come up with a few blocks throughout the game because he plays center and he's 7 foot freakin' 6, I've had it. The reason he gets half of those blocks is because opposing teams' players want to get on SportsCenter by trying to take it in over the hyped up rookie, so they come straight to him and give him the block. The man's lost on defense, and his offense isn't even that great. Sure, he's capable of scoring 30 points here and there, but so is Moochie Norris if you set up a play for him every time down the court like most people here want with Yao. Passing? Besides the accidental slap pass, how couldn't you find the open man if you were that damn tall? And rebounding...I won't even start on his "Oh crap, the ball just touched my 10 feet high fingertips...what do I do now?" mentality. So here's what I propose:

    Houston Sends:
    Yao Ming
    Houston Recieves:
    Shaquille O'neal
    Kobe Bryant
LeBron James (#1 pick in 2003 guarantee)
    Tracy McGrady
    Jason Kidd

Am I serious about any of this? No. Am I overreacting? Yes. But so are you, so QUIT IT!

    DT,

You are so, so so wrong!!!! What a bunch of BS. Get your facts straight.

Yao's upper most reach flat footed is 9'8'', not 10 feet. ;)

DallasThomas, for a moment I thought you were a spy for Mark Cuban!

Dallas would love a trade of LaFrentz+Bradley for Ming! Then they will have the next 10 rings in the bag.

It's funny that during the half time of Dallas-Spurs game, they were showing Cuban watching TV before the game. He was watching Ming torturing Divac in the Kings game. Anyone guess what must be in his mind? :( How come we don't have a center like that? ;)

LOL codell...I'll be sure to do more research next time:D

Well, it's Sunday and my cable's out and I've watched every last one of my DVDs, so I don't mind wasting a little time...But as far as my post being aimless, I have to disagree. I just wanted to show all the yaoyao lovers that are spazzing out over a couple losses that any player on any team can have all his faults pointed out validly and be made out to seem like a crappy player. Most of the things I said about Yao were observations I've made while I was trying to be as objective as I could in evaluating his game. They're exaggerated quite a bit, but so are everyone's "Why Steve Francis sux" opinions. I love all the Rockets and will defend any one of them (especially Ming) to the death of me, so don't get me wrong. I'm a happy-go-lucky, optimistic fan and I just wanted to throw my opinions out there for the homicidal masses to hear.

Throw in Michael Vick and you've got a deal.

Oh, and Tiger Woods. Let's not forget Tiger.

This entire thread ought to be retitled: "Are we overreacting???"
Oh wait, it's been done already...
