I couldn't find the old thread of the same subject. So I just start a new one for the upset fans about the last two games. Flame in! In Clipper games, Ming shot 5-9. Rice 6-11, Griffin 5-12, Steve 5-18, Cat 8-17. Can you believe our best FG% guy shot less than EVERY other starters? In Mephis game, Ming shot 7-13, Rice 5-14, Steve 10-23, Cat 9-21. Countless advantages of with the ball in Ming's hand near the paint. 1. He can choose to shoot: a) fadaway jumpers b)hook shot, c)head fakes and jumper (like last night). All these shots are unstoppable. 2. He draw fouls. He get opposing team in foul trouble (Elton Brand had 5 last night) and shoot FTs. He 13-14 FTs in the last two games. 3. He can pass. It is clearly that Ming is a better passed that all the other rockets. But I am not sure the rest of the rockets are ready to anticipate Ming's pass right now. Coaches need to get this to work. 4. He draw double-team, with the opposing team realize Ming can do 1, 2., 3 above. That leaves other rockets wide-open. 5. Ming make smart decisions, especially at crunch time.
You are NOT the first one to realize this. But obviously SF, CAT and EG are NOT the first ones either.
so. you asked for it. You are as really, r e a l l y stupid poster for not only realizing this thread has been done over and over but also not realizing that the game thread by Clutch is where this stuff goes. I'm sorry. But the quote that I posted of your first sentence is the dumbest...most stupid, ISO bbs play by a selfish poster that I've seen this year. You are the definitive selfish, ISO poster.
I am going to keep posting on this subject until Rockets stop losing games because of same old stupid ISO play. My ISO posts costed a few kilo bytes of space. But Rockets ISO plays are going to cost us playoffs. Even the Rockets marking department know how to play b-ball. Just check their cover picture. Ming is the focus. He has the DAMN ball! Steve and Cat on the sides. <img src="http://www.nba.com/media/rockets/02media_guide_cover.jpg">
This is the best thread on the bbs period!!! Until the Rocket players figure it out, why stop this thread. heypartner - you are the r e a l l y stupid poster.
Here's the reason why Ming doesn't get the ball, when we had hakeem. as dominating as he was, we started to lose games because teams figured out what our offense was which was dump it down to the big man and let him react. This was offense was bashed by the very fans on this board since it let the defense dictate our offense. We were still able to pull it off cuz the Hakeem in his prime was really a dream. Now don't get me wrong, I love Ming, read my posts during the offseason, where most of the Yao Bandwagoner was quiet, I wanted Ming and believed in Ming. Read my posts after his first two games defending him. But Ming isn't Hakeem yet. He will be once he hit that turn around with a cosistency(which I believe he will), but not yet, he still get a lot of his shots off offensive rebounds and tip in. If a offense barely worked with the Dream in his prime, I don't think we should it run it every time down the floor just cuz we finally have a good center again.
Everybody knows Ming isn't Hakeem yet. I mean he won't be a Hakeem. They are different players. He will just be Ming, the next big center in his own way. I don't know about you, but I have watched every minute of Ming's last two games and never saw a tip-in from Ming. In fact I don't remember every see a tip-in from Ming from previous games. He had a lot of throw-it-down slams, but no tip-in. Against the Clippers, Ming made 5 shots of 9 attempts. Out of the 5 shots, 3 came from jumpers after Ming faked up Kandiman. 2 came from his famous baseline fadeway jumpers. I was mostly impressed by his head fakes against Kandiman. It is something clearly he hasn't used in the previous games with the rockets. The coach must be working with him on new tricks to go aggressively toward the basket.
i agree, let's trade yao to the memphis grizzlies for Cezary Trybanski. this well help both teams. yao will become the cornerstone franchise player for a young grizzlies team and help solidify memphis' defense and turn them into a championship team within a year or two. with yao and gasol becoming the new twin towers. stronger than the one built before 9/11. meanwhile the rockets get a older and more experienced center to backup kelvin cato. i personally think this is a great trade. if you don't believe me, just ask jerry west .
"Give Ming the DAMN Ball!" "Give Ming the DAMN Ball!" "Give Ming the DAMN Ball!" "Give Ming the DAMN Ball!" "Give Ming the DAMN Ball!" "Give Ming the DAMN Ball!" there, i said it, now, uh.... where exactly is this thread going???
Thanks for getting the discussion going again. Dumbass play calling pissed me off over the last two games. It is much worse if you think about how many Ming's shots came off his OWN offensive rebs! Stupidity is truly mind boggling. Ming has the best FG % in the LEAGUE; he is a good FT shooter; he draws double team; he passes well ... cannot help repeating what has been said. Is it just me or someone else also noticed that all of this junk started shortly after Cat returned?
