This guy is great and tough, exactly a championship team wants to have. For rockets to get him, they need to give either SF or Ming to Clipper. I think Clipper will be glad to trade both Brand and Miller for Ming. Steve, mobley, EG may be also a good offer for Brand and Miller. Ming, Brand and Miller, I see a real championship team. SF, Miller and Brand, a western final team, no championship (without a great center).
So you want the Rockets to trade Ming so the Clippers can win a championship and us come up short because we have no great center? What am I not understanding?

I am talking about rockets, not clipper. Give up Ming for brand and miller, Rockets will go to western final next year, a great improvement, then wait to bring in another good center for championship. Give up Steve and other two, Rockets can have Ming, Brand, Miller, it's a championship contender already.
Are we giving up on the "Dynasty" already? How about trading Mo, Moochie 1st before we start trading away the future of our team.

Simply from business point of view, Rox will NEVER trade Yao. The only possible reason to trade Yao is that Yao does NOT want to stay when his rookie contract is up. And Rox is better off to trade him for some value.

Clippers have Brand and Miller now and I don't see them going anywhere. Bad trade for us. I am sure Alvin Gentry will do this trade in a heartbeat though.
I'd love to have Brand, but I would think the Clippers will resign him first as the franchise, with Miller 2nd. Kandi walks, Odom walks. Only way Brand moves is if he announces he won't resign (unlikely - so much money on table and still decent team around). SA snaps up Kandi. Odom maybe to Cleveland. Can't expect Clippers to do him or us any favors, even if that's smart to work with agents for his best deal and something in return for the future. They are the Clippers. If they were smart, maybe we could trade Cat or Eddie for Odom. I'm sure it would take that much. Maybe they'd consider Cato to pal with Brand. That'd be nice. Better rebounding, better ball movement, faster, better options. Make a smaller deal for a true banger pf/bu center later. One can get those in FA - now that we know what we need there. Dump Taylor + for an Antonio Davis type. When Rice's money falls away - we have his replacement in Odom slightly cheaper, we have Ming cheap, Cat cheap, SF at Max and cheap (midlevel excep?) PF. Must dump Taylor's money and Mooch's somehow. That's ok $$ distribution. Taylor can hold Ming's moneybag, if we can't dump him.
