What do you think? Here is his campison to rookie Kobe, Manu, McGrady, Roy, and Wade: Per 36 Pts/G #4 FG% #5 3P% #5 FT% #5 TRB #3 Ast #6 Advanced TS% #5 eFG% #4 TRB% #3 Ast% #6 PER #6 I added Per Game to reflect the minutes he is playing. Note the age disparities (on your own).
Marshon Brooks has 13.5 PER with mediocre defense. As of right now he is a good bench player/crappy starter type of player. He has potential to improve, but right now he is not even CLOSE to being one of the top 5 shooting guards in the league.
I'm curious how much better Brooks will be next year after having a season to gauge himself in the NBA. That's when we'll learn where he's headed.
His ability to create a shot is far beyond his years. His everything else needs work. If he works hard, he can be a star.
He has the ability and ceiling to become a top 5 SG in a few years. This guy is going to be amazing if he can improve in the offseason and adapt to the NBA game (which I think he struggled at times this season especially as of late) but he has the ceiling to become a star.
MarShon Brooks comparing to other SG He will probably be top 7-15 SG in the league 3-4 years from now. He right now is Old Kobe Lite. He has about the same athleticism as Kobe now which is not a good thing. Generally you're high flyers are your SGs and SFs barring the freaks of nature and he ain't one of them. I like his game but him being a star or all-star doesn't seem feasible. Top SG competition 4 years from now in no order: K.Bryant(he will still be playing), D.Wade, S.Muhammad, M.Ellis, E.Gordon, J.Johnson(iron man), W.Matthews, K.Thompson, J.Harden, T.Evans, D.DeRozan, K.Martin, J.Lamb, B.Beal, A.Rivers, and some other future draft picks. That is a lot of competition. I would take Kobe, Wade, Ellis, Gordon, Muhammad, Harden, and Johnson over him in the future as of what I know now......I get it
