How come no one is talking about Patterson's 24 point performance?

He was much improved last night although he did start in the same funk he has been in for a while.

Patterson has the ability to do this every night.....and more. I still want more from him. I want to see him get on the boards and get to the FT line more. He was definitely more aggressive last night. Took a lot of shots. And they started falling for him. And he got to the FT line at a better rate than he has been. However, I still want to see him beasting it in the paint, ripping down 10 boards and getting to the FT line more often.

I thought the addition of Camby would be very beneficial to Patterson the most because it would allow him to slide over to the 4 and have a smaller man on him the majority of the night. However, it still seems that McHale is needing to play Scola/Patterson together alot of times down the stretch so I dont know if Patterson is going to be able to have nights like last night against the Kings consistently until he gets to play off of a better quality big man. Good job last night though. If it was humanly possible to play that hard every night then he could really be something special, but we all know thats not possible.

Ideally, what you said, Camby and Patterson, is what needs to happen. However, now Camby's got the wrist problem. And Dally, honestly, Dally is playing like total crap. I'm afraid McHale is going to have to use the Patteson/Scola combo down the stretch unless Camby doesn't show ill effects from the bum wrist.

Camby, if healthy, should be starting over Dally. And Camby/Scola/Patterson should be getting the lion's share of the big man minutes with Dally getting scrub minutes.

Great game, but many have been disappointed with him this season. His shot has been ugly which was one of the only good parts of his game. His defense is ok, but I think gets overrated on this board. He doesn't play to his size. He's just not the same player as we saw last year. And, he got a pass for a long time, but its almost playoff time and thats his first good game?
Bring it every night like Scola, Lowry, Dragic, and Parsons and we'll gladly hop back on the bandwagon because if he starts hitting his shots again and actually gets some boards and acts his size, then he can be a beast.

Dally has some great games where he looks like an all-star mixed in with games like last night. I like Camby there to keep him on his toes, but the wrist injury could be an issue down the stretch. However, it shouldnt affect him defensively.

I do agree that it looks like Scola/Pat will probably be the bigs down the stretch for the rest of the season unfortunately. McHale is asking alot of Patterson, and he's giving it his all. People just need to understand what he's being asked to do off the bench night after night.

Well Patterson still seemed uncomfortable in pure post ups. He would get good position but then just throw it up.

He still needs to get better at rebounding.

But he was fantastic on spot up jumpers and played pretty good D on Cousins towards the end.

Patterson has the uncanny ability to block last second shots.

Or only play teams with terrible interior defense.

Not to rag on him too hard, he has made strides since coming back from the injury. I just wish I saw a more consistent effort on a nightly basis.

He was matched up against a team that played no defense and also randomly got hot.

We just have so many guys who can step up on any given night between Scola, Lee, Dragic, Patterson, Parsons, and Buddinger. Sometimes even Dalembert (although not much lately). Unfortunately, our two most productive offensive stepper-uppers (Martin and Lowry) are out. :( But I think we still have enough ammo to make our way into the playoffs.

... Sure as hell would be nice to be at full strength with a playoff team for once, though... Can barely remember the last time that happened.

Patterson is so tough, quiet / composed. He works so hard.

    - He kind of reminds me of a young Ron Artest without the Craziness

    Who's with me?!

This. I'd be much more impressed with 12/10 then 24/4. He only has 10 rebounds in one game this year. We lose big when he and Scola rebound poorly. Doesn't play inside and so doesn't draw FTs. I want a PF who plays down low.

He definitely seems like the strong, silent type.

    Blah blah blah blah.

You guys bashed Dragic for over half the year.(even while he was shooting close to.500 as a backup:confused:) Why should anything you say even count anymore?

Patterson is going to be fine.
