Chill dude, you basically just explained what I meant. Yes hes one of the best players in the league, and BECAUSE of the PG/SG designation, which is that the PG is supposed to be the floor general/playmaker and the SG the more dynamic scorer, hes not in my conversation for best PG. Hes not the playmaker Williams and Paul are, and it's not even close.
Traditionally, PG's run the offense and control the ball. That's what Derrick Rose does. Passing the ball is merely one of the aspects of running the offense. For example, Derrick Rose passes the ball to an open shooter after a set play would be running the offense. However, if the coach wants to utilize an offensive scheme where the play is designed to allow Rose to score the ball, that is also running the offense. If you run the offense, you are a PG. Regardless of how many assists you average.
What if Irving is just a ridiculously mature 19 year old, and that is why he is so great? He plays like a more experienced player. A lot guys peak after a couple of years in the league is an increase in fundamentals. Guys like Rose and Wall, you look at them coming out and say if he can develop a jump shot or if he can play within an offense, but with Irving that is already there.
Kyrie Irving = Tim Duncan of point guards. Small market, humble, winning background, leader, clutch, great right away.
If clevland gets anthony davis, it's all over. I actually hope this happens; Kyrie and Anthony Davis would be an interesting duo.
I didn't say anything about passing or assists. So you kindof just rebutted something you completely made up. In any case, I agree with you. But derrick rose does not run an offense nearly as well as Paul or Williams.
You are a little overly sensitive. Relax. You were talking about how Rose is not a PG, and I'm telling you why he is.
There is a difference between Kevin Durant's level and Rudy Gay's level. Maybe you'll figure that out.
Yeah, I think the Cavs really struck gold on Irving, I said it before if I was starting a franchise it would be with him, he's only 19 yet has leadership skills and maturity rivaling respected vets like Billups, Camby and Jamison. I hope the Cavs FO really pull their **** together though. They wasted the 4rth pick on some dude that's basically a poor man's version of PP, and the funny thing is, next draft has tons of power forwards as well SMH.
