From our game against Memphis I observed that you over played the starters especially Francis Mobley and Yao Ming! It resulted in a loss! Many mistakes such as missed Free Throws resulted from this overplaying. Please use the rotation to include more substitutions, then you will get peak performance from your big guns, when it matters. Please do not be afraid to change the finishing line up if you have better defensive or fresh players on the bench, which you should have done last night! Morris and Nachbar should be developed as shooters for that type of situation, we are missing out on a lot of talent, which needs playing time!
I agree with you to a certain degree. Rudy should systematically plan time slot to play other sit on bench. But it is not the only reason Rox lose the last game. No one could foresee the game that end in OT. Can you pull SF and Yao during OT? I don't think so. The OT is not good timing to allow bench try their hand. From what I heard, other than a quater, most of last game Rox moved ball pretty well. I would let them gel. play through tough situations.
Rudy has been playing Francis and Mobley way to much during the games and it appeared to possibly effect them at the end of the game vs. Memphis. Considering that the Rockets are playing a double header tonight against the Clips it will be interesting to see if they look tired tonight too. Rudy should put Hawkins in for at least 10 minutes and bring in Cato to replace Ming sooner so he will be well rested at the end of the game. Ming looked absolutely worn out at the end of the game yesterday.
Playing Francis and Yao is not the reason the Rockets lost that game. Francis did his part last night. He hit big shots in the 4th and Yao saved the Rockets asses with the crucial makes in the 4th and the OT. You guys that think Steve and Yao are at fault don't know much about basketball. It is so obvious that Rudy is playing the wrong role players in the clutch. Ridy had Rice out there. That is a no-no. Do you honestly expect Glen Rice to do anything when it counts. This "so called star" couldn't even get Charlotte past the second round. So this rusted down version of Rice isn't gonna do anything. People say Rice is a dead on shooter. Man, how overrated is this! All Rice has done is take quick "Mobley-esque" 3 pointers that start fast breaks for the other team. And Rice is not a 4th quarter player. His defense is terrible. But for some sick reason, Rudy had him out there at Memphis. Rudy deserves a lot of blame for the Memphis loss, but not because he played Yao and steve too long. The Rockets are a Kenny Thomas release and a Glen Rice release away from being a contender.
