Enjoy your house of cards. Here's a little something to think about: http://www.mrsec.com/2012/03/did-ex-ut-coach-pearl-break-another-rule-while-in-knoxville/ According to CBSSports.com’s Brett McMurphy, junior Ohio guard DJ Cooper has told the network that two coaches contacted him after his freshman season and tried to lure him into a transfer. One coach was Baylor’s Scott Drew. The other was ex-Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl. In case you’re wondering — or haven’t been keeping up with the Vanderbilt v. Maryland case currently being hashed out by the ACC and SEC — it’s not kosher for the coach of one school to contact a player at another school in order to elicit a transfer. In fact, it’s a secondary NCAA violation (though it seems like player-poaching should land more in the “major” violation category). Cooper was the MAC’s Freshman of the Year in 2010. After advancing to the Sweet Sixteen last night, the player revealed that Baylor and Tennessee came after him. (Maybe Baylor president Kenneth Starr can investigate those claims.)
And this is from The New York Times last night: http://thequad.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/18/ohios-cooper-has-seen-the-dark-side/ “I was getting calls left and right,” he said. “I was getting some calls from different high-major schools and different people. I’m big on loyalty.” Cooper stayed at Ohio and was an unusual modern recruit. He had interest from universities like Baylor, California and Wichita State but decided on Ohio because it recruited him the hardest. Both Cooper and his high school coach, Brandon Thomas, declined to name the programs trying to poach him. Recruiting a player before he is released from his current program is against N.C.A.A. rules. Cooper’s mother, Dionne, identified Baylor Coach Scott Drew as someone who attempted to lure her son from Ohio. “He wasn’t necessarily calling and saying, ‘Come on over,’ ” she said. “He would say: ‘Oh, this is great. I knew you could do it. The exposure you’re getting now, you’re not getting it in the MAC because you’re not on TV.’ He was really trying to sell to me. ‘We know you can do these things, but because of where you are, you’re not getting the attention you deserve.’ ” When reached Sunday, Drew said: “After he signed with Ohio, I never talked with the mom or the dad or D.J. We wish him the best of luck in his career.”
Hahaha... Way to find those unbiased opinions about who the good ol boy's in college recruiting really are. Hank. Tell us about how Republicans think Democrats are crooked. Even better. Give us some of that great insight. Your complex teachings on Baylor's roster really gets me. How your definition of things like "failure," work on a scale. Almost like your predicting the future when you take whatever their current situation is and predict that they will eventually lose a game again. What's next Nostradamus?
[AggiefansotherthanHankMcDowellstopreading] When you dream at night, you dream that A&M's basketball program was even half as good as Baylor's is. [/AggiefansotherthanHankMcDowellstopreading]

where dem hataz at where dem hataz at Elite 8. Sadly, this is where it might end but Baylor is on the map.
We can both hope for a miracle that IU beats Kentucky. Kentucky will beat the snot out of Baylor if they match up on Sunday.
I'll take a close game between the two if it means that we get some extra footage on how to give Kentucky some problems. I won't argue against the notion of Baylor being blown out but you have been picking against Baylor since the beginning of the tourney EDIT: For those who missed Acey taking a dump on Freese tonight: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab...ous-dunks-highlight-baylor-win-024215630.html
and here's a little something for you to think about: "Andy Katz @ESPNAndyKatz Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Ohio U issues a reversal statement from DJ Cooper: "No schools have recently contacted me or my family since I signed at Ohio University.'' http://www.tennessean.com/article/20120323/SPORTS0601/303230060/Ohio-star-denies-direct-contact-Pearl?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CSports

Just like I expected. They are totally outclassed today. Against Kentucky's athleticism and length, Jackson is too small and Heslip is too slow to score. Without those two guys carrying the load, Baylor has no chance. Perry Jones III is hiding in the bushes and scared to come out.
That Perry Jones article was sad and made me pull for him even more even though I'm a UK Fan but that is no excuse for his pathetic play this year.
Yeah this is awful. I expected Baylor to play better because I thought they could match Kentucky's athleticism, but this is embarrassing. Sadly sammy, this may be the Beginning of the end for Baylor. If all of these reports are true(and there are rumblings everywhere) the program may be in trouble. I'm not saying Baylor IS guilty, but there seems to be a ton of smoke. Hopefully for Baylor's sake it's nothing.
Indeed. Anthony Davis is hobbled a bit and PJ3 is jumping into him and drawing fouls. Both Davis and MKG have 4 fouls. If one of those guys is DQ'd soon, the wheels could fall off for Kentucky. At the same time, Pierre Jackson better not foul out. I like this aggressive PJ3.
If only Baylor could have kept it closer at the half. I would have been content with a 8-12 point deficit. We would have been right there for the upset in the second half. Anyway, it was a good season. Another Elite 8 appearance and losing to the favorite to win it all is nothing to be ashamed of. I'm hoping Miller returns bc we will be a force next year. If Jones and Miller both return...watch out!
