ClutchCity.net Game Thread: Rockets @ Grizzlies 12/13/2002

The stupidity of guards play in final minutes has always been a problem. It is just a matter of how to bring up the problem. Today I did in a way that many guys feel very unhappy. Ignore me as you want. Do not ignore the problem. As I said, I do not care too much about in what way I address the problem. Whenever I feel like I want to say something true, I will say. As for our fans, diffient fans have different ways to express their support and love. I did it my way. I am fine if you guys bash me for what I have said. I am not ganna be fine if you guys can not bring up more evidencs to back your point up.

If you say tonight's game loss is due to the whole team's poor play, just do some research and bring the details onto the table to back that up. Calling a specific player's name in cyberspace is nothing wrong. At least it does not hurt the team's chemistry as you think. GMS and coatching staff will take care of that. But if you make some excucess to cover the problems that are so abvious, that does not sound good to me. The most widely used excuess is "Give The Time for the whole team to Learn, They are Young". Grezzle not a young team? Some guys simply do not want to see fans fighting over one disputable issue. Is it so negative? I do not think so.

To All So Called "YAO ONLY FAN" - You guys need to be mature!

I am a fan of Yao Ming, so I become a fan of SF, a fan of Rox, a fan of ....

Being a basketball play, loss is not fun and is frustrated. No matter how good you play, if you lose, you just will not feel happy. Just like SF said, "A lot of pressure, a lot of frustration. (If keep losing games)"

Therefore, for Yao Ming, he will NOT be happy when he lose!! As a fan of Yao Ming, I don't feel happy when Rox lose the game, or when Yao lose the game or when SF lose the game. (They are actually the same thing) How can you be his fan when Yao is sad but you are happy for him.

Just think about on the street, if you meet Yao, and you tell him, "Hey, Yao, I am your REAL fan! I saw you LOSE all the time, but don't worry, you are doing good jobs, and I am still very HAPPY when I see you keep LOSING."

I guess Yao Ming will want to kill you first.

Come on! Be mature!

State your opinion, but don't go low, OK?

For the record, I believe everyone is deserve their own opinions. Especially Chinese fans deserve their opinion on the team--this is part of the deal if NBA really want Chinese Fans to be Rockets/NBA fans. Yao-only or not. It's simply not fair some of "Yao-only-fan"-phrase coiners think Rockets is a just Houston team, at the same want to enjoy the franchise's success in China. Chinese fans deserve to be as rightfully a Rockets fan as any Houstonions.

Try to criticise the play, not player, at least try not to go low if you have to criticise the player.

Hey guys!!! Watch your language!!! That so called "FAMOUS" is a dirty slang. I know it but I have never said it out from my mouth in my life.

 

The bottom line is this: In the last 4 - 6 minutes of the game the ball needs to go inside. I watched the Rockets have 7 possessions late in the 4th quarter and only one play went to Ming. Common sense dicatates that a post player(Ming) has a greater chance of scoring due to his taking a higher percentage shot(ie. layup, jump hook, short turnaround). He also has a greater chance of getting fouled due to the defense being usually at a disadvantage because of his height. Francis and Mobley are extemely important to this team, but late in the game we don't need outside jumpshots unless it comes from within the flow of the offense which needs to start with Ming. I didn't say this had to be the case throughout the game. ONly in the last several minutes.

Wow, wow, WNBA, I know you're upset, but go easy there. We are all upset, not just you. I read alot of your posts before, and I like what you write most of times. looked like the team played ok, they're still learnin. the next game should be really good. seems like this one lit a fire under their @ss.

 

after taking a breather and not thinking about the game I hope we can pull it out and give the clips a good thrashing today. im still pretty miffed that we cant remain clutch (clutch, its all over the rockets stuff) we have occasional clutch plays by francis and yao but it seems confidence gets high and then gets broken down quick when the other team puts up an answer(ever seen the replacements? its like quicksand). this has happened four times, already with the clips, suns and blazers. but the rox really need to get over their road game phobia because they are just an entirely different team on the road. granted our offense was pretty good but we shouldnt be letting jason williams be scoring 25 pts, granted the jizzilies played a pretty good outside game. i hope yao can get more shots for the simple reason that he gets more free throws, while his shot from 10-12 feet is damn good i want to see him getting in the paint and throw it down instead of layups, i think he needs another reminder from steve. also i still dont think the team is used to his passing yet, a la 6 TOs which were very brutal but could have been amazing instead. thats all, im hoping to wake up to a win tomorrow morning (im studying in shanghai, i think its crazy that i cant find a fricken yao jersey here, ive looked everywhere!)

It is a TEAM loss !!! I am a Yao fan but i have to say that he passed too much even he was very close to the basket, that's one of the reasons(though not main reason) why the guards had to take so many shots !

Steve & Cat were doing great in the games vs Spurs, Sixers & Kings. And you say such boorish words to them because of one loss ?

I would say y are a troll... or Rockets guards hater..

The Rockets are a work in progress. It is a loss but they can learn form it !! Based on Steve & Cat's preformance on the previous several games, i don't think they need 2 yBears to play teamball.

every loss doesn't have to lead to wholesale changes in the team and calls for rudy and steve's head. tonight memphis was just on fire. they were throwing up jacks from all over the court and swishing them. not to mention jason williams had his best game since last year against us.

the rockets just need to bounce back and protect their floor tonight.
