I said this in another thread and I'll say it again: Derek Fisher is the president of the Players' Association and is supposed to embody the epitome of leadership. Yet when he gets traded to a team he doesn't want to be on, he refuses to show up. The hypocrisy and pompousness exhibited by some people just amaze me..smh
If the Rockets had wanted to sign Mills, were his rights tradeable? If the Blazers are releasing him for nothing. He could've been a throw in in the Camby deal.
I don't think so. I think by rights they meant like the rights you have on a restricted free agent (Phoenix on Brooks, Denver on Wilson Chandler, etc). Don't think I have ever seen that traded before.
Correct. To give Fisher the benefit of the doubt for a second, it's possible that he and the Rockets mutually AGREED that he not show up while they negotiated a buyout. Failing that, then I completely agree with delta69er and Hakeemtheking. Dude needs to either show up and fulfill his contract or, if he truly wants the Rockets to cut him loose, expressly agree to waive his player option for next year (at which point Morey would gladly let him walk).
