Can someone answer this question for me.. Can you play mp3's over multiple directory's on one cd .. or do all the mp3's need to be in the root directory of the cd ?
Depends on the player. I have a RIO portable cd mp3 player and it will recognize multiple directories (folders)It tracks them by alphabetical order of folder and then contents of that folder and then by alph. order of the songs (or more folders) within. So what I do is create a folder on my desktop called 'Winger', and put all of my winger songs in it. I then create 'Dokken' and drop all of my dokken songs in it. Then I create 'Dexy's Midnight Runners' and put all one of my DMR song in it. Next I create 'Ratt' and put my ratt songs in it. Blah blah blah. Then I burn the data cd with all of my folders as the objects. It's easy to surf thru 'em once it is burnt. Then I get my Sharpie out of my sock and write 'sh!tty bands' on the disc. Except for DMR. They rule.
Winger So I'm guessing it may depend on the model..I'm more interested in a dvd/mp3 player for inside the home.
Try this link out:http://www.toshiba.com/tacp/dvd/current/SD4800.html This a toshiba model that supports MP3 and DVD audio and priced lower then other models. MP3 playback is a little sketchy but for the price you cant beat it. You may need to do a price search on this item I have seen it range 199.00-300.00.
