Martin staying beats Martin going out in a bad deal.

    Not concerned.

I'd like to see him coming off the bench and have Lee start. A second unit of Dragic/Martin/Budinger/Patterson/Camby is pretty damn solid. That way one of our good offense/bad defense players is starting (Scola) and one is coming off the bench (Martin), which is hopefully balanced out by the other players.

I think he'll do better for the end run without the trade expectation hanging over him.

I will be disappointed if he is starting over Lee.

Martin being here is still good, I guess.

If only for the sole reason that he knows where he is playing until the season is over. No more trade rumors or anything of that sort anymore.

    Hopefully, this'll clear his head.

He will be an expiring contract of almost $13 million this summer and next year. The only other expiring contract of size we will have, if we exercise the option, is Dalembert at only $6.7 million. So at a minimum, we need Martin's contract if a star player comes available for trade.

Some of you guys make me scratch my head.

How is his value at an all time low? You really think intelligent GM's around the league are gonna disregard all of his career for just a few weeks of a slump? No.

He was a net zero at his best when with Adelman... He scored a lot but the team also lost a share of games. He is what he is. He has to be surrounded by rim protectors and strong defending wings... and not every team has that.

We have that now but he is still not producing.

pretty dissappointed we didn't trade him. I really wanted Lee to be our starting shooting guard. Hopefully McHale doesn't mess everything up by starting K-mart over him again. He has to know that Lee is better at this point. I really hope martin come off the bench. I think he'll be better with the second unit and balance the team better.

    K-low/dragic
    Lee/martin
    parsons/bud
    scola/patterson
    dalembear/camby

hey, that's not half bad i guess.

Martin's weaknesses frustrate me as much as anyone else, but I'm glad the Rockets didn't give him away for pennies on the dollar.

I have to think his recent slump has something to do with his strained shoulder or whatever it is. With the trade deadline passed, and with some time to rest, hopefully Martin will start playing better. Getting a big who is very good passer from the high post plus a strong rebounder and basket protector might also help him some.

I'm not happy that the roster is such that Marcus Morris is still way down on the depth chart, though. I hoped we'd make some moves to create more of an opportunity for him to enter the rotation.

Exactly. Trade deadline is past, he will start playing strong again. You just watch.

I would have like to get something for him. But with the trades we made, i'm glad he wasn't involved!

Hopefully he can turn it around after he recovers from his injury but if not than Lee's minutes should increase drastically!

Ainge and Cuban went after him hard when the Kings had him on the block.

This is a good point which I don't think has been touched upon enough. I had really expected Morris to either be traded to a team who would play him, or have some PT opened up for him here through other trades.

I'm beginning to wonder whether he will be Morey's first big 1st round draft bust. It has to happen to him sometime... no GM who serves for very long goes their whole career without drafting a bust. You can improve your odds but you can't be perfect.

But if he keeps not getting PT it will... he's already 22, keep in mind. This isn't a young kid drafted fresh out of HS, he was a college junior. Eventually you run out of time to make something of yourself.

I still like Martin but not as a starter! His minutes are bench material anyway, maybe with the deadline over McHale will consider putting Lee in as a starter.
