I really hope the Rockets will kick my former home team's hairy hind. They really deserve it. I predict YAO will get a career high in blocks. Now looking back I dont blame Francis for ditching this sorry ass excuse of a team/organization.

Apparently some Griz fans think we got a weak frontcourt.

The Grizz are flourishing against weak or unbalanced frontcourts, so I think the Rockets are vulnerable.

Apparently, they are using the warm body of Glen Rice (8.6 ppg) and rookie Juaquin Hawkins at the "three" slot, and all they provide is decent 3PT shooting.

Kenny Thomas (10 ppg, 6.8 rpg) is a serviceable power forward but nothing to write home about, and Yao Ming (11.4 ppg, 7 rpg) despite his suprising upsurge is still very raw, not a true post player and despite his 1.6 blocks per game not a very accomplished defender.

From the bench, Eddie Griffin (8.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.7 bpg) is developing slowly, Kelvin Cato (5.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg) is little more than a decent rebounder and Maurice Taylor is the odd man out (6ppg with .348 %FG).

So, their interior rotation is long rather than quality and their true strength lies in the perimeter with Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley. Not so different from the Suns, then (well, to be fair the Rockets are clearly one rung above the Suns). If the Grizz post players (Gooden, Gasol) manage to avoid the swats and score, and the backcourt stays in front of the slashers to minimize layups, they have as good a chance as anybody.

Well, obviously this guy hasnt watched a single game of Rockets this year. I only wish the Grizz's coaching staff were as ignorant as this guy. But probably not. Oh wait a min, Grizz's under Hubbie
    Brwon now, well ...

    soo...."lalala"+"blahblah"= rockets suck?
    ha...Wait and see Griz fans...
I am sure the rockets will win this one, it will get ugly at times and make me do the usual sreaming tantrum at the TV, but the rocks will pull it out. It will get scary in the 4th quarter when the griz start with a hot hand and hit almost everything but then the rockets start to connect and then the griz go ice cold in the closing min.

I hope that we can win 20+ points so that Boki can have some PT.

yeah...for some reason i have the feeling that Boki will have a killer game friday...but we need to give him a chance...which i dont see happening.
man...he is a player and would be racking up stats if he was playing, like on the griz or denver..etc (crappy teams)

We lead wire to wire and most our starters do not even play in the fourth quarter. Getting ready for the Clips Sat night. When you have the talent the Rocks have this year you can do that.

YAO WILL HAVE 20/15 AND 4 BLOCKS AND THE ROCKETS WIN BY 14. MEMPHIS HAS BEEN PLAYING BETTER..........BUT WE NEED TO PUT A STREAK TOGATHER.........YAO STILL IS NOT GETTING THE PROPER RESPECT OUTSIDE OF HOUSTON...I LIVE IN PHOENIX AND THERE ARE STILL ALOT OF DOUBTERS......YAO IS THE FUTURE!!!!

I called the first blow-out of the year, I am calling the second one now. They have won three in a row vs Houston and three in a row overall this season. They will get shredded though.

    Rockets 112
    Grizz 84

I hope we can get Glen some shots, especially in the post against their glut of youngsters...he could use a big game to get him going again. I hope Mobley begin back does't mean that we go back to forsaking GLen and his offensive purpose. And again, the man is a streak machine. Just becasue he starts off 1-5 doesn't mean he will stay there. And what about the other night when the man scored 10 points in the first 6 minutes of the first half and then only got 2 shots from there on out?? All I'm saying is that we should use all of our weapons. This would be a good game to get them firing simultaneously.

This is a perfect time for Ming to add a few footages to his highlight reels. Showtime baby! However, I agree with the others, the Rockets shouldn't take this game lightly. The Grizzlies are much better than what the stats show.

Yikes!! Grizzlies are 5-5 after the 0-13 start...win against Denver was the first win in which they didn't shoot 50%...Wesley Person, 10-14 3PNT% during win streak...

    KEYS:

    1) Griffin Time!! Gooden&Gasol vs. Rice&KT...let's hope Eddie's got that touch cuz we're gonna need his D

    2) Stop Wesley Person?! Strange but the guy's had a bit of a revival with Memphis and is shooting lights out recently. But after Cuttino stopped AI and Christie, he should be able to stop Person...shouldn't he?!!

    3) Rockets, keep doing whatcha been doing. Past 4 games have been the best stretch so far of the short season against high quality opponents (combined record of 62-29)!!

We could have a let down cuz this was the first scrub game in quite awhile. Well, last scrub game was against the Warriors and we came into there after playing 4 quality teams (man...when does it become the other way around). Took care of them fairly easily but wasn't pretty. I say we win but get a kick start from a bench player (Cato, EG, or Mooch)

    Rockets 103
    Grizzlies 92

    105 : 83 Rockets

Yao Ming should be able to have his way against Gasol.

The strategy for this game is: Give the ball to Yao early, and often. I have seen plenty of games this season where Yao's presence has gotten the opposing teams' center into foul trouble early. Gasol and Lorenzen Wright are two players who can pick up fouls easily, so it would be a good idea to try to go after them early.

Jason Williams is a guy who can burn the Rockets with his outside shot, but he can be reckoned with. The key is getting defensive rebounds and playing defense, which the Rockets have been VERY successful with all year long.

Rockets win going away 101 to 90.
Yao has a monster night after the 3 day break between games and Cat gets 25.

At the end of the game a crazed Jerry West is dragged off the court yelling- "Give him to me, Rudy! Ming is mine! MINE!!"

    Or something like that.

I don't understand why so many people are so high on Jason. He's not that good... Sure, if he gets hot, and we just flat out forget about him on D (and we haven't been doing very many gaurds that favor lately - don't think we'll start on him), he'll hit some J's, but you could say that about any gaurd.

Hell, you could even say that about the most inconsistent, 29% 3-point shooters, and 39% overall shooters... wait a minute, THAT'S JASON WILLIAMS!
