    I feel like I'm not reading this correctly. I think it's meant to imply that we're competing with them for a playoff spot...

    I think what he is saying is Portland is battling with us to make the playoffs. NJ has our pick if we make the playoffs. NJ is 5 games out of the playoffs. If they add Wallace, they may be able to get in. And Portland would be probably going to the lottery and pushing us into hte playoffs.
