Just heard this on the radio.

Calvin Johnson signs new contract for 7 years $132 millon dollars. hahaha Meanwhile a guy with maybe 85% of his talent signs for less than half of that with the team that thought derrick ward was a starter. smh

Calvin Johnson is the one WR in the entire league that forces a team to adjust their entire defense around him, which makes things easier for everyone else on the team. I don't know if he's worth that kind of money, but if there is a WR that is, he'd be the one. He's in a class by himself and is the centerpiece of that offense.

26 year old who many consider to be the best WR in the league? Worth it.

Megatron: 1681 yds, 16 TDs, 32 plays for over 20 yds
Vincent Jax: 1106 yds, 9 TDs, 21 plays for over 20 yds

85%? Try 2/3rds. And that top third always comes with a premium.

No one's laughing at the Lions. The Bucs are the ones that may have overspent. SD fans aren't that upset to see him go, and he hardly looked elite last season.

Not at all, he's not worth that money. He has talent but a healthy Malcolm Floyd is just as good as him.

My goodness, Megatron's getting that quarterback money! Any word on the guaranteed amount?

not really. Johnson is easily the best WR in the game. he's like Andre in his prime, but with the end zone numbers to back it up. overpaid? sure. severely crippling contract? nah.
