how in the world can Nesterovic, battie, Bradley MAgloire, Cliff Robinson and dampier be ahead of him. That makes no sense at all. Even with some others i have my doubt.but those six make no snens at al.

Did anybody notice that the Rockets have TWO centers in the "Top 30?"

2 in the top 29, which means both are starting calibre C's.

Both are underranked though. Ming should be top 6, and Cato should be somewhere around 19. Battie isn't doing anything Cato hasn't done 10 times better.

The reason is that the rating is based upon absolute production, and does NOT take into account efficiency.

Check it out: Yao is one of the most productive players on a per minute basis.

I wouldn't say this is an accurate portrayal of how well a player is playing.

That is a statistical ranking, so Yao's first 10 games are still holding him down. Expect to see Steve drop a bit as he has been playing more team ball lately and Yao rise to the top of rookies as his new status as Mr. Double Double is reflected in his stats.

Yao's true impact on his team will only ever be reflected in one stat though - the winning record of his team!
