just watched the new episode of law and order and the 2 cops were chatting about athletes from asia. the mentioned ichiro, chan ho park, and "that 7-5 guy that was signed by texas"... (would it have killed them to say "rockets" instead of "texas"... i guess some new yorkers are still sore about 94)

I heard that too. It really would have been nice to hear them use the word "Rockets" instead of Texas but oh well...

You know that you have arrived if you are getting some run on a top rated show.

rox is gettin' play from just about everywhere,
if you watch the nba at all, you hear guys talking 'bout the rox all the time. last night, walton mentioned steve francis and yao ming , like, every 10 minutes.
    very nice indeed.

    That's interesting.

Seems as though it was written into the script to be obscure, or to
    incite ones interest.

Notice that they didn't even "remember" Yao's name?

"7'5" guy" sounds more interesting to non-basketball fans, than "Yao Ming."

But, I think they left the "Rocket" or "Houston" part out on purpose.
I guess they thought, "Why give the Rockets free advertising over
    the Knicks." :D

Yep! It's strange having Walton on the Rockets side.

That wasn't the case in 1994.

Actually, I remembered that he said something like 'a guy imported by Dallas'. So I figured it was Wang ZhiZhi.

Briscoe had to be talking about Yao because Curtis then made the comment about how the jury is still out until he faces Shaq.

Could it be that they know that there's really only one team in Texas? :)
