I could've posted this in the Random Trade section but I think we need to jump in on this considering Crawford is pretty much everything we need and will soon be needing even more with Martin gone. We need another scorer, someone who can create their own shot, an instant offense 6th man off the bench and preferably someone who's clutch. Think Jason Terry light.... Who better than Jamal Crawford? Especially if we factor in that Kevin Martin is pretty much out of here and if we make Lee the starting SG (which I'd like to see and I think Lee deserves). Word here in Portland is that the Blazers are shopping Jamal Crawford pretty hard. They're not asking for too much either surprisingly... Rumored trades include Bledsoe+Gomes from the Clippers or a 1st round pick. But the Blazers are mostly looking for PG help. I think Crawford would be a great piece for us that could be had for cheap and I think we have pieces that Portland desires.
Even the best fall down sometimes. Trade deadline mania can get even the best of us. You are well respected (rightfully so) but this does not deserve its own thread unless there is an actual rumor. Jamal Crawford is another Kevin Martin type which could be valuable if we trade Kevin Martin which we haven't... yet.
We have Lowry and Dragic at the one and Martin, Lee and Williams at the 2. So why do we need a chucker like Crawford when we are allready loaded at the 1 and 2?
Everything we need?....To stay in mediocrity, what ever we do please dont give up ANY of our draft picks unless we get a star player in return.
i'd do a trade like this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7j4bqey portland finally gets a servicable point guard and cuts some salary in the process. by trading wallace they'd fully commit to nicolas batum. and by getting kevin martin they'd get a star player in return and could bring wes matthews off the bench. the rockets on the other hand need some playmaking at the sg and sf position. crawford could be our 6th man and provide playmaking and clutchness off the bench. courtney lee starts for defensive reasons. gerald wallace would be our starting sf. he brings toughness, aggressiveness and experience. parsons would come off the bench in an energizer role. it would take the pressure off of him and might make him be a little more consistent.
