Every year the Rockets make a move (in general). Following 95 there were no changes...they were defending champs. It became evident we needed help to beat the sonics..Enter Barkley. The 97 Rockets were damn good and minus Stockton...seriously might have beaten Jordan. 98 season they were coming back with a good squad, but Glide decided to pack it in. Enter Pippen. A mistake, in retrospect, but the acquisition of a 6-time champion/top 50 player can not be faulted. The foolowing season we add Stevie and Shandon. Now Mo. CD and Les are always working, and big move is made every year (basically) I see no other organization with the constant dedication to improving the caliber of players on the team,.

The Rockets also have good scouts being able to get Matt Maloney in 96 and he was a major help in the 1996 Playoffs. Then in 98 Cuttino Mobley at the 41st pick, the Rockets are now building the team around him and Steve. Then in 99 Kenny Thomas who should be a good power forward. In 2000, maybe it might be Dan Langhi or Collier may play well once the season starts.

yep the rocks are definitely among the best front office team in the league. RT and CD are a magical combo that deserve a few accolades for their dedicated aim of improving the Rox every year and compete/win the title.

For every RT basher out there. I hope you learnt your lessons. Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!

the only thing that's missing since 94 and 95
is a ring or two. This year the Rocks should climb from 34-48 to say 55-27.

    Rockets are moving on up!

You were just joking about Maloney right?

Whatever else you might be able to say about Maloney, he did help in the '96 playoffs. I wouldn't take it as a joke. The contract he got after that was the joke.

Oops, Maloney was picked up by the Rockets in 96 but it was the 96-97 Playoffs, you are right Ace.

If in all this turmoil the Rockets only miss one playoff season; not bad at all. After completely revamping their team player for player from two three years ago except Hakeem; I repeat not bad.

Francis, Mobley, Williams, Cato, Thomas, Anderson, Rogers, Taylor, Norris, Drew, Collier, Langi, and Miller were not here 1998. Only Hakeem and Bullard are the main stays.

And for this team to have been in the hunt for a championship in 1998 and 1999; while now in 2000-2001 season the Rockets are once again in a race. The Rocks a legit player in the whole scheme of it all.

Via draft: Thomas, Mobley, Drew, Langi, Collier, oh and hakeem.

Via trade: Francis, Cato, Williams, Rogers

Via Free Agent: Anderson, Mo Taylor, and Miller, Bullard and Norris

Great Office work by the front office. A solid team has been formed once again.
