In all fairness, 'best shot at a title' clearly isn't Dwight's primary criteria if he prefers New Jersey to Chicago.
Adidas is the reason he won't go to Chicago. Drose and Dhoward are the big adidas stars and you can't have them in the same city.
Dwight is such a joke. He says he is all about 'winning' and that is the main factor in this trade yet refuses to goto the place where he is most likely to win a title, in fact he is most keen on going to the place hwich is the most rebuilding project in NJ. He is clearly thinking about his celebrity.
Make Noah the 6th man. Have a 4/5 rotation of Howard, Noah & Gibson. That solves the Bulls lack of height problems.
Dwight is such a tard if he doesn't want to go to Chicago. That team with him would be better than the heat I think. But sure go ahead and try to make it work in NJ.
Howard would be an idiot to refuse to re-sign with Chicago, especially if the reported offer is true and the Bulls would be giving up nothing of consequence for him. Likewise, if the offer was true, the Bulls would be idiots to not do the trade anyway for a rental. They'd have a shot to win a title this year. But then, Orlando would be fools to trade him for Chicago for that deal, so that's probably the hang-up. The Rockets can pay better than that.
Chris Mannix @ChrisMannixSI [rquoter]Bulls/Dwight Howard is just not a match. I'm told unequivocally Howard is not interested in signing there. As nuts as it sounds, rival executives say they believe Orlando will hold onto Howard after the trade deadline. Howard's camp thinks so too. I'm told Howard prefers going to free agency. Doesn't want a team he is traded to gutted just to get him. If Howard goes to free agency, throw out the three-team (Dallas, NJ, LAL) list. It's open season for bidding. LeBron, part II. Two teams sources say tell SI Howard will have interest in: Clippers and Miami. There are cap issues, but the interest is real.[/rquoter] The Big 4 in Miami
Uh, wouldn't that be a bit of an understatement. The Heat look like they have $77 million of committed salary next year. $77 million! Sign and trade with Bosh? Doubt the Magic want that, Bosh gets paid over $17 million (and up to $22 million) over the next 4 seasons... solid player, but $80 million over 4 years. The Clippers are slightly better at only $50 million (assuming Mo Williams exercises his $8.5 million option, which he most certainly will), but that doesn't leave a lot of room for a max FA pick-up, does it? It's even worse because it's $50 million in 6 players... so I guess the Clippers could sign and trade involving DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe and Ryan Gomes, but would the Magic want that?
It's hilarious that no one is going at Howard for basically lobbying to be someone's "Robin". The bull**** that people are buying from him is pretty damn funny.
LOL. I think the Clippers could amnesty Mo Williams. Don't remember exactly when he was traded but I think he is amnesty eligible. Then they could sign Dwight outright and trade Deandre for a shooting guard along the ilk of Kevin Martin.
Dwight and Rose seem to be polar opposites in the way they go about handling their business, so I wouldn't doubt that. Plus, Rose seems to be the type to want to win with the hand he's dealt. He had the same reaction when LeBron was rumored to have Chicago on his list.
LOL, I wouldn't even know how to react if Miami got Howard. I hate the Heat and Lebron now, but I think all I could do at that point is laugh at them. Has to be nearly 0% chance of happening but if it did I am sure all those players would be boo'd endlessly for the rest of their careers.
Howard next to Blake Griffin wouldn't work well on offense. Way too much overlap and redundancy. Would be stale in half-court even with CP3 at PG. On the other hand, Howard would be the perfect C to cover up Blake's defensive deficiencies. As far as trading DJ, I think he has negative value because of the contract. I would NOT want him if I was another team. He is a bust at that salary. If the Clippers sign Howard, they need to trade Griffin for a dynamic perimeter player. You combine Howard + CP3 + a superb SG/SF and you get a championship contender.
Dwight to Chicago would give Miami a real run for their money. Chicago is not going to beat Miami as it is currently constructed. I fully expect the Magic to hold onto Dwight after the trade deadline. They will have as good a chance as anybody to resign him because he can get more money in ORL.
