I think Alonzo Gee was shooting free throws and Bill was saying how this guy had all these stops and teams can't give on these young guys. The Bull interjects with something about professionalism. It seemed to me by the tone bill was using he was directing it toward the rockets?
Rockets aren't giving up on the players. They have given everyone their chances in practice, and if they can't go all out - or are outplayed by their team mates, the playing rotation goes with that. It seems that McHale is bent on building a championship mentality. He isn't satisfied by simply giving out a good showing for the NBA beat writers. Heck by sitting out Martin, Budinger, Scola, Dalenmbert, etc., he is showing he isn't satisfied by merely winning. He wants the team to run his plays efficiently and to the "T". And surprisingly, the Rockets are still in the thick of the NBA playoff hunt!! That is with a team of role players. But albeit a team. T-Will isn't a team guy. Thabeet can't grasp the plays. Martin can't play the defense that McHale wants. Budinger can't do the defense either. Scola would join his buddies on the bench if there was any decent depth behind him too.... But Lowry, Parson, Lee, Dragic, Patterson exhibit the tenaciousness that McHale wants. Martin, Scola, T-Will, Dalenmbert, Hill, Flynn, Budinger are getting playing time just because they happen to be on the Roster and are the best alternative. But, they'd be flipped in a lightning second if Morey could swing a trade getting some sort of value.
Worrell isn't happy with this squad, he beginning to sound like a disgusted fan. In this game he's already taken a few shots at Martin, Flynn our small big men, and our inability to grab a board. While all very true, he usually tows the company line almost always.
Rather him be honest instead of a homer and tout us a championship contender. Bull just said we were leading the division by a 1/2 game and Bill states "you can say that". Which is true, we are leading them, but we're playing eh ball. I don't mind.
I dont think Worrell is on Twill's side on this, if that's what you mean...I think worrell was speaking about Gee and Bullard used the opportunity to tie it in to Twill's situation.
I noticed it a little too. You can tell he's not a fan of Flynn's over-dribbling too. He's probably just a little cranky because of the road trip. Bill gotta go home to his b****es.
