If Scola can be a starter in today's NBA, Bird would be an MVP.

    Smart: Bird >> Scola
    Shooting: Bird >>>> Scola
    Passing: Bird >>>>> Scola
    Rebounding: Bird > Scola
    Offensive effort: Bird = Scola
    Defensive effort: Bird >>>> Scola
    Handle: Bird >> Scola
    Quickness: Bird > Scola
    Athleticism: Bird = Scola
    Size: Bird = Scola

I couldn't stand Bird back when he was playing. However, Bird had a timeless game. He would be just as great playing against this generation of players as he was during his playing days. You don't need athleticism when your game includes a raging competitive fire, supreme confidence, a quick shot release, out of this world court vision, and brilliant anticipation.

You could put Bird or Magic in their prime on any team today and they would instantly make their team mates better and contend for championships.

Bird would get under LeBron's skin with his trash talk so much so that Lebron would hide under the bench in a fetal position.

I don't think he would of reached his potential in todays game cause he would of played with mostly black guys and they would of froze him out unlike in the era he played which had alot of white guys on his team.

Tim Duncan is pretty athletic. Watch him run the break in his prime so is steve nash. Heck even unathletic kevin love have has a 37 in vertical. He would have been ok, but I think he is lucky he played when he played. What jvg was his coach would he even be out there since he played no D.

The super athleticism of today's players like James "Flight" White, Gerald Green, and TWill would see them drafted ahead of Bird.

Are you Zeke beefing because LB is white? That man could flat out hoop. He was the consummate winner. I hated the SOB! :p

Answer this question for me. Would Adam Morrison had the same success in college if he played with mostly black guys? I think not.

Would Jesus be considered the son of god in today's society or just another magician?

are you serious? Bird runs the offense. Every coach would design an offense around him. Bird would decide who got frozen out, not the other way around. Are you saying Phil Jackson, JVG, Popovich, Sloan, Adelman, etc wouldn't make sure the offense went through him by benching players who hogged the ball?

Oh, and his PGs were always black. And McHale is the one who never passed the ball to Bird, and Ainge wasn't much better.

Besides, you theory doesn't hold with Nowitzki, Love, Ginobili and so on.

And further, this wasn't true with the Dream Team...no one froze out Bird. Bird was a top notch passer/facilitator and everyone loves them as teammates.

I was being sarcastic, but I do think lebron james is better than larry legend. Larry was not a good defender. Lebron is an elite one.

This is a joke. Bird didn't play in the 50's or 60's. He played in the 80's. Of course he would be dominant in today's NBA.
