anyone who drinks "a lot" and doesn't get hangovers is not doing it right.

gatorade is pretty much bad in any situation. It's just sugar water marketed as some type of hydration miracle.

Eventually everyone reaches the point where 'I'm too old for this ****' is the only hangover cure.

    Hangovers are caused by dehydration.

The best way to prevent a hangover is to drink as much water as you can before bedtime.

If you still wake up with a hangover, the best thing to do (in Houston) is to go get a big bowl of menudo for breakfast at La Mexicana in Montrose or Teotihuacan in the Heights.

Yeah, that's true, but sometimes it's hard.

Hey stoner, deterrent is for before the ailment. You're talking about a cure.

Professional alcoholics drink a few liters of Pedialyte before bed and upon waking.

I don't know about a fistfull, but if I manage to pop a couple of ibuprofen before passing out, I can wake up and start drinking again the following day. I don't like to do this very often since it's hell on your liver though.

The worst hangovers I have are when I stumble home, and straight up pass out. The best option is to force yourself to stay awake, eat something greasy like pancakes/migas/burrito/burger/chinese food and some water before going to bed. The passing out causes bad hangovers the following day.

This is why I miss Austin - migas at Magnolia Cafe on South Congress at 2:30AM after getting hammered.

Completely agree about drinking water, and especially about eating Menudo :) Unfortunately, a lot of places don't make it unless it's the weekend. Not sure about the places you listed though.
