Kobe is making 27 mil this year & 30 MIL next year as a 34(?) year old. Of course, 95% of laker fans would disappear if they did this though. thoughts?
It will never happen but yes Kobe is overpaid compared to other superstars. He's probably not even a top 5 player anymore.
They couldn't get anything decent for him in return even if they wanted to... also, it'd be a dark stain on the Lakers organization. They wouldn't risk it.
It would be interesting if they traded Kobe. If that happens then the Clippers will be the new Lakers.
I think that the spurs would be a good fit (you'd need a third team): but Kawhi Leonard and Manu for Kobe. Parker, Kobe and Duncan would be a force.
I don't know why you guys are even discussing this... Beyond the assumption of Bucher seeking attention, the idea is ludicrous. Bryant is probably the best player since Jordan. The Lakers are not going to trade him. $1000 to the tipjar if he does.
Maybe, if anyone would trade for him. With his salary, his no trade clause, and his age, it seems pretty impossible and not worth talking about. They'd probably be better off concentrating their energies on reloading for another last-ditch effort.
Only possible deal, although it would never happen, I could see for Kobe would be with Atlanta. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6sxsdx7 Maybe that would give Atlanta a winning mentality, and LA would have a SG that would defer to Bynum in the paint.
They could be done with Kobe's contract in 3 years, but instead they should go with 5 years of Joe Johnson? I'm not so sure that's wise.
