    1) Rose
    2) Williams
    3) Paul

Everyone else after that is debatable.

So if Rose isn't a PG than what is he?

Who is the PG in Chicago?

A point guard, traditionally, is the one who runs the team's offense. Not the one who is the teams offense. With that, the current best would be:

Where does the OP or thread title mention anything about "tradition"?

I think the only thing holding Chris Paul back from being a near unanimous pick is his nagging health concerns.

Deron Williams is being underrated because he's stuck on a terrible Nets team. I guess that's a case of being careful what you wish for.

I wouldn't take Westbrook over Rose, Williams or Paul. I wouldn't take him over Lowry the way both of these guys are playing. Edit : Actually I would, that last sentence was overboard. Still Paul, Williams/Rose, Westbrook.

You have a point (get it :p). I stating my opinion by going back to the essential functions of each position. Nowadays, I admit, the positions are evolving.

Rose is the best player that technically plays point guard although I think of him more as a two/combo guard more than a lot of guys on the list. Same deal with Westbrook.

To me, Chris Paul is the best PG -- whether you want to look at it in terms of best PG skills or best player who plays the position.

He doesn't help his team win.
Sadly Washington is going to tarnish all hopes he had of having a successful career in the NBA.

yeah, if I were Wall, I'd leave as soon as the contract is up, which he probably will anyway. That's just a complete waste of talent right there. ridiculous man.

Chris Paul is the best POINT GUARD. To determine who is the best you must also determine what a POINT GUARD is supposed to be good at and what his role is. In my opinion Chris Paul is the best true point guard in the league then Rondo. Derrick Rose is the best basketball player in the league, on an all around stand point.

Chris Paul has almost everything you want in a point guard. Incredible ball handling, passing, decision making in the clutch, low turnovers, good finisher, steals, sturdy defense, good 3 point maker, decent shooter, size, strength, toughness.

All the star point guards have several of those skills. Though some might be noticably weak in one of those areas. Rondo, Parker can't shoot outside. D-Will doesnt have the D. Nash isnt as strong. Westbrook is a turnover machine, D Rose isnt near the passer, Lowry isnt the finisher.

He doesnt have much length, but thats a bonus for a point guard with the full package.

Westbrook at #2!? Paul at 5!? D-will at 3?! The guy in the clip clearly has no idea what's he doing.
