Simple: We're looking for progress. Same reason we have hundreds of posts analyzing Greg Smith. The Rockets are not a contender yet they are win-now with the way they handle playing time. Growth, upside... we'd like to see it and we'll take what we can get.

agreed...that, and the cost we paid to get him drives interest in him.

I think it is Twitter. He writes whatever he is feeling whenever he is feeling it. Don't think I have ever seen a player like that.

this. the things he tweets gives one the impression he really is just happy being an NBA player... almost like he is king twill (who doesn't even get minutes).

wait til he has a hard time finding a team to give him playing time (post hou)... then it will really be too late for twill.

Are you content with the Scola and Martin Proven Mediocrity Show?

Thats why people pay attention to prospects.

He impresses me in the same way that guys like Ronnie Brewer does. In other words. Not that much basketball wise. He does have it upstairs. Frankly if he doesnt by now? He needs to start over somewhere else, he might never have it if he does not by now.

Rockets are not a place to baby sit grown men. He needs to go where babies can be coddled.

I think its because we have seen potential in him and because he doesnt get consistent minutes, we do not allow ourselves to diminish his potential.

Because in our state, where we have no star, we dream that our star is in a player that we havent seen be an upset.

We dont see what our coaching staff see on a daily routine so we dont want to believe.

Its our dream and its our right to have dreams.

I thought he was going to be the next Ron Artest, but could also dribble.

Haha I've been under the assumption that 90% of all the T-Will fans play this game alot. I keep hearing about his potential, athleticism, talent, etc. and all I've ever seen him do on the court (as a rocket) is dribble around, maybe make a decent pass or drive to the rim and finish horribly. I can only assume those who speak positively of him have based their impressions on some arbitrary attribute rankings as assigned in the virtual NBA inside their gaming consoles.

Otherwise, I can't make heads or tails of the T-Will mania. In preseason, I thought the play of Greg Smith, Jeremy Lin, maybe Jeff Adrien were a little promising... and by "promising," I mean that in the sense that maybe they could crack the rotation eventually. On the opposite end, Jonny Flynn and T-Will convinced me they belong on the bench.

Why does no one ever want to, ahem, "Free J-Flynn"?? It's not that much more bizarre a notion...

Did you see his Nets games???

On the other hand since your talking gaming, I havent been on lately, but passing was a weak link on him.

Nah, I haven't, so admittedly, I probably shouldn't down his game too much since I've only seen a small sample size. Then again, if he's had this much trouble getting playing time with so many coaches on more than one team, I'm somewhat inclined to believe that whatever he showed with the Nets wasn't much.

I certainly wouldn't mind being wrong though.

Took too long for someone to give the most obvious answer.

He made it personal once he talked himself up and talked down to fans. People love or hate that and that brings attention to him. Then he did his youtube series, which brought more attention. Talked to clutch, more attention. Twill isn't a guy who just blends in. He's going to talk and those people usually get the attention.

Agreed. For me personally I could care less about a guy talking on twitter or mentioning clutchfans. It is all about what he does on the basketball court. So far he has looked horrible.

Unrealized potential, inconsistent minutes, we traded a 1st rounder for him, active Twitter updates, talks with Clutch, etc....
