I'm sure they could figure out a way to give T-Will some minutes without DNP-CDing Budinger.

    Trade in the works.

Face the facts, Bud would be one of our most desirable 'assets'. He is athletic, can shoot the 3, and moves well in the halfcourt set. AND he's on a contract so small that it's almost invisible.

He's a "sweetener" for almost any deal we want to make. We send salary + Bud as incentive.

Perfect time to trade him now, before everyone realises just how ineffective he actually is (based on his defensive inability).

So we're resting him so he doesn't get injured? As far as his defense goes, he's still not nearly as bad as Kevin Martin in that department (I'd much rather trade K-Mart because of this and his larger contract). If I remember correctly, didn't our defense actually improve last season after we traded Battier? I recall Budinger being a reason for that.

Either way, the "showcasing T-Will to up his trade value" theory makes more sense to me than "resting Bud so he doesn't get hurt before we trade him" theory.

Well here is what you risk with playing Twill if you are going to trade him.

    You risk him looking horrible.
You risk losing a game if that truly is the case.

If you plan on trading Chase though you risk more playing him. If he gets hurt then the trade would be off.

They showed a stat that said Chase Budinger was -27 last time we played Clips. Bad match-up.

I wonder if they arent hiding Bud ..... so teams dont ask for him as trade compensation. Noticed C.Lee's minutes have gone down in the last couple weeks too ....

Or both of those theories might be true?

Re: your comments on KMarts contract. Yes, agree - don't you think that's why other teams might really be interested in Bud as a 'part' of any trade? Decent offensive skills, almost zero sized contract. Oh - and young, so 'potential' to improve.

Assuming he wasn't banged up (didn't appear to be), he's either being "saved" due to a possible deal including him, Williams was being "showcased" (as in, "See? He still mobile!!"),or was being given a "message" by McHale due to god knows what. One could come up with several reasons, but the bottom line is that he's a valuable rotation player. Take your pick.

It's been said here before already but using +/- for an individual player for one game isn't exactly what that stat is meant for.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=320104012

Besides, Martin was a -26 and Scola was a -23. Why did these players get to play 42 and 41 minutes respectively yesterday given their similarly horrible +/- numbers?

Bud isn't exactly dominant, but nor is t-will. Let's try kook Morris to back up parsons.

Bud kills the Celtics, and he can't get off the bench for McHale, neither can Parsons in crunch.

Our small ball sux...it is costing the team games.

Budinger should be playing - this team is desperate for his offense with Kmart sucking the air out of every game with his stench lately.

^It has nothing to do with Martin. Budinger was playing well...At least, that's what it seemed like to me.

Too much Dragic and Lowry at the 1/2.
