Well, I think this is one of the most perfect songs ever created. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aNBJ1rBAlN8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I don't know if perfect, but songs I always like to hear: Leader of the Band - Dan Fogelberg End of the Innocence - Leader of the Band Angel - Sarah McLachan Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton Philadelphia - Bruce Springsteen And a song I have remembered for a few decades, called A Friend of Mine is going Blind. Hauntingly sad.

This is so ubiquitous and so much a part of Western and World culture that it is almost a cliche and the mark of a psuedo-aficianado to praise it... but damn, the Ode to Joy always moves me like no other piece of music. Nothing comes close really. Just brilliant. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4pbMUEHvoAo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
come on...its obvious, <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8UFIYGkROII" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

You can put this song in any situation and it works. <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JxoUmh2FCX4?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JxoUmh2FCX4?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Based on longevity, I'd have to say that the greatest song of all-time is probably Psalm 23, but because the original music is lost to history, I don't know if it counts today. I'll go with "How Great Thou Art". It's a Swedish song whose English translation was once considered the favorite song of the UK. My favorite version is by Elvis Presley.
Would rep you again if I could. Had my choice been more serious, this would have been one of the few I'd have been considering.
