This is around the time of year where everyone else makes a big trade and the Rockets are left scraping up the leftovers.
If we are wanting to recruit Dwight, why don't we try to swing a trade for his best bud, Josh Smith? There are rumors out today that teams are calling Atlanta about him, and that he has been wanting to be traded for the past year. It would take Martin and Scola to get him, plus other assets, and would probably have to be a three way with a team like Minnesota because Atlanta doesn't need Martin. We could take back Hinrich's expiring contract in the deal to balance out the salaries. If we are left with a core of Lowry, Lee, Parsons and Smith, plus some serviceable bench players, that would leave us with at least $19 million in cap space this summer to sign Dwight, plus an attractive group of players to recruit Dwight this summer. To Atlanta: Scola Beasley Ridnour Rockets' first round pick (from NY) To Minnesota: Kevin Martin To Houston: Josh Smith Hinrich
I'm good with Josh Smith....toss in Willie Green or Stacks expiring... Scola/NY pick/their choice of Flynn, TWill, JHill or Thabeet... Then KMart/Bud/2nd rd pick to Minn for Pek and Beasley KLow/Dragic CLee/Green or Stack Beasley/Parsons/Morris Smith/PPat Pek/Sam
The most interesting rumor by far is the source on Realgm that says that Andrew Bynum, Kevin Martin and Chandler Parsons are being sent to the Magic. It is easy to fill out what the rest of the trade probably is. Magic: Andrew Bynum Kevin Martin Chandler Parsons Lakers: Dwight Howard Luis Scola Hedo Turkoglu Rockets: Pau Gasol The trade is probably something like this, give or take a few guys. Daryl Morey=Winning...
Martin, Dragic for Lin - done deal Please guys, nobody likes the rockets, gms dont like us, players dont like us, we dont even like us. Even the commissioner doesn't like us, nobody will trade with us.
With the rumors of the clips interested in ray allen i think this trade is still the best Martin to clips Gasol, foye to rox MoWill, Scola, bud, knicks first to lakers
