Yao Ming had a great practice today. Yao put on a terrific passing exhibition, hitting several cutters in the lane with a variety of bounce passes and no look over the shoulder dump offs. In an individual catch and shoot drill he nailed seven jumpers in a row from 18 feet out. The Rockets focused on certain situations they may face against the Sacramento Kings. Kenny Thomas got the majority of the work as the first team power forward. Cuttino Mobley's ankle looks good so far, as he practiced the entire session. The following players sat out the second half of practice to ice down their aggravating injuries: Steve Francis (right quad), Glen Rice (knees), Kelvin Cato (shoulder) Yao Ming was recently given the nickname "Dynasty" by Steve Francis. However, after scoring on an array of spinning post moves and dunking home a one-handed alley-oop in a brief halfcourt scrimmage, Francis joked that Yao's nickname for today was "Lottamoves." After a good workout, the Rockets departed and allowed the Sacramento Kings to use their practice facility for practice. --Trevor Mitchell, rockets.com
That quad thing must really be bothering Francis becuase he hasn't had the elevation he normally has.
