You're also not sure if the random conspiracy YouTube video about aliens you watch in a given day is real. So I don't know that what you're sure or not sure about means very much.
Texas Congressman Ron Paul leads the president Paul 43 - Obama 41 Romney 45 - Obama 43 Obama 45 - Santorum 43 Obama 49 - Gingrich 39 Unelectable, huh? From drudge.com
YOU may hear drivel like that, but last time I checked kids today have portable gaming devices, facebook accounts, and get shuttled around from karate class to soccer practice by their parents in their minivans. vs. this seriously, this is pointless to to continue letting someone as ignorant as ToyCen dictate actual conversation here.
Over the last 5 years I've heard atleast 20 different people who grew up during the depression make that comment. There is no right or wrong answer it's all about their opinion so my statement is made from opinions of others as I am 27 and wasn't around during that time. What I said was accurate from what I've heard.
Pooh Bear 66 - Winny from Wonder Years 56 Obama 44 - French Fries 23 Water 23 - Paul 14 Bill Cosby 33 - Zippity Bopity Dooda 9000 See, I can put numbers next to names too!
Are you "real" to like Santorum? Congratulations! http://www.examiner.com/independent-in-manchester/paul-leads-obama-new-national-poll
Really cause when I talk to 80 year olds all I hear is how they had to walk barefoot to school both ways in the snow. There is no comparison of today vs. the depression times. Technology and improved infrastructure have drastically improved quality of life.
so you've been hanging out with octogenarians in the last 5 years? why do you preface everything you post here with "what you've heard", or "word has it" or "people are talking..." do you even know when the Great Depression was or what were the circumstances under which Americans lived? go do some "internet research" on the subject and do us all a favor, don't get back to me. you are a complete dunce. I am almost positive you can't make threads anymore. have fun in the Classified section when you get banned from here.
It might be a reasonable statement to say that today's youth will not live the same quality of life as their parents. But to compare it to the depression is stupid. My Mom and Dad were young during the depression. They say Texas was not nearly as bad as the rest of the country but they didn't have much. The fact is globalism brings all societies quality of life back to the mean. If nothing else, having a billion Chinese competing for the energy required to support a middle class lifestyle will stress the supply.
Or at least, force us to finally implement smarter technologies and strategies that have been stupidly resisted for 50+ years due to the power of the almighty buck.
Well I agree life might be easier today because of technology and such. But aren't studies showing that because of video games, facebook and other social nuances that its hurting the social life of everyone? And look at what kids really know about the world. How many teenagers do you know that know how to grow a potato if they needed to? Kids today get things handed to them and shoved down their throats and that to you makes their quality of life better?
This is an excellent point. The internet clearly hasn't helped you learn anything about, well, anything. And most evidence points to the fact that it's only made you more stupid.
Monday, February 27, 2012 For the first time since late December 2011, Mitt Romney leads the president in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. Romney earns 45% of the vote, while the president attracts support from 43%. Romney holds a nine-point advantage among unaffiliated voters. For the first time ever, Texas Congressman Ron Paul also leads the president. In that matchup, 43% prefer Paul and 41% Obama. Ten percent (10%) would vote for some other option, a figure that includes 17% of Republicans. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...ministration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll
and this has WHAT to do with Ron Paul? you are just trying so hard to have adult conversation but you seriously have the thinking pattern of a 9 year old. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5hfYJsQAhl0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Probably none. But, if they really needed to find out... They would just Google it and now how within a matter of minutes. So...
This actually made me laugh out loud for two reasons. First, your usual vagaries, "studies show blah blah blah". The potato thing? Get real dude.
