I'm guessing the theme is about posession of material things and power.

Halfling: He's going to put the ring on at some point to defeat middle Earth. He has to. Nobody can defeat all those creatures without some more help. I think the power will be on his side and the inscription on the ring will say something about how only a Half Ling can wear the ring for good.

Gollum: After the halfling has destroyed the evil Sargon the Gollum is going to crave the ring and steal it from the half ling. He will run into the pit of fire and die with it. Evil will be destoyed forever.

Human: His love for the elf woman will be his downfall. Somehow the Sargon will capture the elfwoman and force the human to make a decision. Get the ring or the woman dies. He'll end up commiting suicide over this.

The Wizard: I don't think he died. I think he fell down into the pit and befriends the creatures down there. He seems to have a way with animals. So I think he's going to befriend that dragon and attack middle earth from below with the dragons.

The Elf bow and arrow guy: He's going die in middle Earth

The dwarf: He to is going to die in middle earth fighting.

The Older Elf Mysterious woman: I don't know what her gig is. She obviously craves the ring but was able to resist. She must have some bigger role.

The older bad wizard: He's going to face off with the GoodWizard again. He's much stronger, so I think some twist of fate will kill him. Maybe a second wizard or something. Maybe one of those dragons.

I can't play since I've read the book. But, it is very interesting to read your guesses.

Well, never got around to reading the books (surprising, since I love sword & sorcery ala Dragonlance, etc.) but here's a few guesses for me. Keep in mind that I have no idea how much of a believer Tolkein was at happy endings, but I'm going to be an optimist for once. Plus, with the trailer on the website and the commercials it's not ALL conjecture, but since no one knows anything about what Jackson will do in ROTK, book ending and movie ending may not be the same for all characters.

Frodo - Will being to fall prey to the Ring's draw, but Sam will keep him on the path until the whole group meets back together (at Gondor perhaps?) and the group leads an army to Mt. Doom where the battle to end all battles happens, Aragorn drags Frodo's butt up the mountain and Frodo throws the ring in. Eventually returns to Hobbiton to take over the Shire, his tase for travel satisfied.

Aragorn - Forced to choose between his love for Arwen and his responsibility to his people. Chooses the latter and goes with the Gondor army to Mt. Doom, where he defeats his fear of succumbing to the Ring like his ancestors by helping to destroy the Ring. Becomes the new King of Gondor and marries someone (this Eowen[?] in the new movie perhaps?)

Gollum - Without the Ring, wanders into the land searching for a new 'precious'. Don't know how much Jackson is going to focus on him, although I heard he's a major player in TTT.

Gandalf - Didn't die (thanks commercials!) in the fall with the Balrog, and returns to help lead Aragorn Gimli and Legolas back to Frodo and Sam. Eventually defeats Sauron in the big 1 on 1 faceoff with Sauron at Mt. Doom.

Legolas - Interesting to see what happens. I'm going to assume he survives (my favorite character, I'm gonna be p!ssed if he eats it) and say he either a) retreats to the West with the rest of the elves or b) leads any elven stragglers as a new band of rangers.

Gimli - Following the victory at Mt. Doom, takes over for Baleen at Moria and spens his life clearing the mines of the evil that inhabits it.

Sauron - His defeat at the hands of Gandalf (in my scenario) shows Sauramon that he is too weak to be allied with. Destroyed by treachery from his own partner.

Galadriel - Uhhhh...got me. She SAID that she would "go into the West" but she IS a ring bearer, and if the One Ring calls out to all the ring bearers, she might become someone who helps ally the humans and the elves together for the climactic battle.

All in all, my guesses of your chosen characters. Any Tolkein fans I've offended (Nomar, I'm looking at you :D ) my apologies.

    My predicitons...

Frodo...Sam will grow jealous of Frodo's place of importance with Gandalf, and when Gandalf tells Sam that he is leaving Frodo in charge, Sam will smother the old wizard while weeping...He'll then have Frodo taken off and killed, but it won;t take, and Frodo will try to get back to the Shire, but he'll find it all burned down and Old Tobey or whatever will be hanging dead...and then he'll give up, and be captured by slavers, who will bring him to Befalas, and train him to fight in public competitions...Frodo's experience on the road, crowd pleasing manners, and of course, the Ring will make him a favorite, and eventually get him to be able to play in the big match in Gondor, come face to face with old Sam again, who has risen to be Steward in the apparent absence of anyone remotley qualified, and kill him in a personal duel, although he will die afterwards..

Aragorn...He will be in the first wave of the bloody and very prolongued attack on Mordor, and will lead his men well despite the fact that his hand keeps quivering...Questions about his mysterious past will become the subject of much light hearted banter amongst otherwise deadly circumstances, and Aragorn will lead them on, until he is given the mission of rescuing a young Rider of Rohan, who's mother has already lost 3 other sons in the war...This Rider, whose name is Pryvatt, is lost somewhere with some of the Rohan Riders fighting deeper in Mordor...Aragorn leads his band of men, including the great longdistance bowman Legolas, and the always grumbling Dwarf Gimli, and Tom Sizemore...and they will face many dangers, and some will die, but in the end Aragorn will buy it, but only after Saving Pryvatt the Rider, and making him promise to go back to Gondor and do some work on that broken sword...

    Pippen and Merry...

These two will take to the hills, become bandits, and lead a gang of roughs robbing stages and what not, until the time the stage company hires some orcs to hide on the coach and catch Tookch Pippindy and the RumDrunk Kid, as they have become known in local lore around Bree, which is where they drop in to wench and whatnot between robberies...But these orcs on the coach give them quite surprise, and almost get them there...but they get away, and figure it's only a few days till they shake them..The Orcs keeps coming, though, day after day, promting Tookch and RumDrunk to keep asking " Who are these guys?" Eventually they get trapped up on a cliff's edge, which overhangs a rough running river far below...RunDrunk talks a reluctant Tooktch into jumping for it, even though he can't swim, by laughing and telling him " Don't worry...the three last days without second breakfast OR elevensies has probably killed you already!" They jump, survive the fall and malnourishment, and get away to the Brandybuck River, where they live happily ever after until they turn to crime again, and meet their death in a hail of beer flagons...

That is all I have for now, but more to come...

Wow. Those are some really interesting predictions. When I first read the book, I thought along the same lines as most of them. I don't want to spoil anything, but some of the predictions are right on, and others are not.....I guess you'll have to read the book and watch the film (which are quite different) to find out!

All I will say is that Gollum has a rather large part in The Two Towers, and Return of the King.

If you really want to know, just ask! Either on the BBS or E-mail. :)

Have some feeling for the people who read The Two Towers, and had a to wait 2 years for Return of the King to be released.

But the thing is that the book fans KNOW pretty much what's going to happen. Waiting for TTT is hard enough for me, much less ROTK.

i think the rugged rebel friend will appear out of nowhere in the end, providing cover for the innocent young boy who finally releases the shot that destroys the dreaded space station.....

either that or the butler does it in the library with a lead pipe...
