Say what you will about this organization, but they get it done. Pop is a legend in my mind for what he has done year after year. Yeah they were bounced by the grizzlies last year, but I just don't see an early exit for this team this year, no matter how many players they lose they get it done.
I respect Pops coaching abilities, especially when he exposes bad coaches being carried by good players (Clippers).
I respect them a lot aside from Ginobili. They are a model organization and prove people wrong time after time. Not a fan though. There is a clear line separating respect and fandom.
Because I hate Duncan's derpy face and Manu's flopping and Bonner always hitting a million threes against us
I do have great respect for them as an organization. From Buford/Pop to Duncan/Ginobili/Parker. They are a class organization and I wish that we had those types of winners here. Not a fan though. Not a fan of how they obviously tanked and how Stern rewarded them with Duncan. Not a fan of soft David Robinson. Not a fan of dirty Bruce Bowen. Not a fan of the crappy city of San Antonio.
I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I will say that you have to respect what the franchise, stars, and coach have done this past decade+
hat bruce bowen, find robinson to be overrated(he had great stats a la some plaers and had the bet 'per') but anyone watching him against hakeem...it was no question who was better and its real annoying to see some analyst compare stats and say robinson is more dominant. That said, I don't agree that htey obviously tanked. Robinson was out that year and he was the centerpiece of that team so they sucked as it was, got lucky in the lottery and duncan is probably the type of player/loyalty/leadership that any city would beg to have. But even if you tank, teh est you can do is 25 percent of hitting the one seed, the numbers just aren't that great unless there are multiple stars.
Duncan just travels all the time. travel, travel, travel. I wish I could travel as much as he does but I don't got the money.
