oh, and i forgot.... Yao Ming ranks #6 in the NBA in Efficiency Ranking Per 48 Minutes(32.38) ...that's not among rookies, that's among all NBA players...just between Jason Kidd and Kobe Bryant
Yao Ming rookie rankings: pts per game : NO. 3 rbs per game: 2 filed goal percentage: 1 assists per game: 13 blocks per game : 2 minutes per game: 10 double double: 1 efficiency: 1 Looking at these numbers so far, I will call him ROY.
I AGREE!! D-WAG seems right now 1 dimensional and takes alot of shots! Also his team is not that good so they can afford to let him loose! On the other hand, Yao Ming is steadily improving and is the real deal!!!
I repeat.... UNANIMOUS Rookie of the Year. The reason I say that is because coming into this year, he had so many doubters. And, a lot of people completely wrote him off as a bust before the season even started. By the end of the year, he will be seen as a legit player with superstar status. The perception will be such a 180 from where it started, that EVERY vote will go to Yao.
As others have stated, Wagner is shooting 38% for the season. He hasn't even had a single game where he shot 50% from the floor. For that matter, he hasn't had a single game yet where he even shot 45% from the floor. The kid definitely isn't bashful about shooting.
I hope you're kidding. It's early, but the dude sux. Sure, he's putting up some numbers, but so is everybody, they're just not necessarily good. Some have brought this up already, but it's so significant: the man is shooting about 36% I believe... and he's on the freakin CAVS! So any offensive numbers he's been putting up shouldn't impress anybody, even if they were good, which they're not... I can't believe NBA.com has him ranked as the number 1 rookie currently. NOTHING other than his PPG numbers should impress anybody. I wouldn't trade Mobley for him. He just doesn't look good to me out there either, only seen him play once though. Yao vs. Waggy for ROY? Yao, hands down.
Looking at the NBA.com Rookie Power Rankings Ming is behind Drew Gooded, not Wagner...although I wonder where Wagner went becaue he's not ranked anywhere on that ranking.
