i thought it was a good episode overall, but not worthy of a hyped up season finale. i expected so much more.
HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE.... Memo to David Chase...when you pump out that much hype...you'd better have a ****ing payoff. It's like getting loveletters in high school...then you find out they are from your friend's ugly little sister. A Sopranos season finale has never left me feeling so empty. And this was the first one that was extended in length. I really thought that meant it was going to be something very special and shocking. How ****ing wrong we all were.
well i went back and looked at those spoilers that HBO.com posted last week. (i posted the links to them here on cc.net) they were correct. there were 3 links, stating: tony and carm separate junior has a mistrial chrissy exits rehab and is clean someone at HBO.com really screwed this one up badly.
It would have saved a lot of time if David Cahse would have just gotten on the screen and said: "Carm finally gets tired of Tony screwing around so she boots him out. Meadow cried, yelled a lot and acted like the spoiled b**** she is. Christopher got off the heroin and is doing well. Oh...and Junior didn't go to prison. Good night everybody." The whole episode seemed so sterile (except the Tony and Carm yelling at each other). It almost felt like they had Junior on the screen for 5 minutes, just to tidy up that storyline.
That was crap. In every scene that came up I was expecting someone to die. Junior dying on the couch, Russian girl gettin whacked by Tony, that old dude getting whacked at the mall, the lawyer getting whacked, Johnny Sack getting whacked, Carmela getting whacked, Furio getting whacked, etc. Damn I'm so pissed.
Cha-Ching. First thing out of my mouth was a fart sound with my thumbs down. Then I said, "well that was a waste of one hour and eighteen minutes." Season 5 better be the year of the gun. Why do they change what works - kill and I will be happy.
What a yawner. I hope the writers get their sh*t together for next season. One more thing: DON'T LET MICHAEL IMPERIOLI WRITE ANOTHER DAMN EPISODE!!! So much hype, and such a huge letdown!
What a let-down. When it was over my wife and I looked at each other and said "That's IT??". Great acting, as usual, but a total teasing, steaming dumptruck load of ****. This has to be the most depressing and disappointing season. What a waste of talent. The writers should be whacked. SOMEBODY should be for producing this. A big tease for next season. Nothing else.
Well, somebody liked it. http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/TV/12/09/sproject.ca02.sopranos.finale.ap/index.html
Most of the women I heard on 104 this morning seemed to love this episode. They enjoyed seeing him getting busted for his infidelities.... women...
