Just a thought that came up.. I really don't think that they will win it all this year yet they are having a superb regular season. I believe the lack of having many players (low post presence) who can put the ball in the basket will effect them when it comes to playoff time, especially cause its best of 7 series. Also I believe that Westbrook will be another reason they don't win yet they will get far. Remember last year in the triple over time game how westbrook was taking the final shots and hogging the ball instead of handing the ball to their best player, that frustrated KD. Yes, let me give credit to Westbrook on his game but it effects how everyone around him play. Westbrook is a scorer therefore should play the 2, that way he can be more explosive once he gets the ball, Harden can play point. I do want the Rockets to win it all but most probably they won't, I think the Grizzlies have the greatest chance if randolph comes back and he can play with Rudy Gay.
They have a good chance. Ibaka and Perkins should be able to hold their own against Bosh. Wade cannot guard both Westbrook and Harden. Lebron and Durant will get their points regardless of who is guarding them.
But what about the west, grizzliescan take out OKC. And the fact that they might play the bulls. Also, perkins and ibaka can play d but can't score, and westbrook is not passing to them.
Heat, they have connected as a team this year, their teamwork is special. Only issue they have is closing out games, no other weakness that can't be worked on.
they aren't ready yet. let's just see if they can get past dallas or san antonio first. then they'll have to match up with the heat. i just don't see it. even the grizzlies have a better chance to actually take it all because of one guy: zach randolph. westbrook will be their undoing.
Not if Westbrook and Durantula get locked in a dick-measuring contest during the Playoffs. Westbrook still thinks he's an Alpha dog, and he may very well be, but not next to KD. Rather than catapulting contested 20 footers early in the shot clock, he needs to focus on shutting down the likes of CP3, Parker, Lowry, etc. and using his supreme athleticism to attack off the bounce and facilitate/get to the rim. I watched Monta Ellis drop 48 pts at > 60% clip on Westbrook a few weeks ago... unacceptable, considering he has the tools to be one of the best defensive PGs in the game... and has proven his worth on that end of the floor before. Harden's the x-factor, as he's capable of putting up 20+ at the drop of a dime. I think he'd be the primary option in Houston, but is buried behind 2 All-Stars at the moment. I know he's tight w/ the OKC crew, but w/ time I think he'll look to carve out his own niche elsewhere. Unless the Lakers make a blockbuster deal in the coming weeks, it's going to be OKC-Lob City in the WC Finals. I see the Thunder prevailing, setting up a dynamite Finals w/ either MIA or CHI. If it's Chicago, I think they'll win it all. Healthy Miami, better luck next year. But, like I mentioned, this is all dependent upon KD and Westbrook coinciding under the brightest of lights. They've been successful thus far, but we've never had the opportunity to see a team that young and immature perform on the grandest of stages. I could see Westbrook crumbling under the pressure (jacking up 25+ shots/game and hitting at an atrocious clip), KD getting frustrated and fading, and Ibaka looking like a deer in the headlights... but, maybe not. Gonna be interesting, that's for sure.
No. They will knocked out in the 2nd rd because they lack a pass-first guy. Westbrook will try to do too much a blows it again.
I have heard plenty of people say this and most must didn't watch that game considering Monta had 30 in the 1st half when Westbrook wasn't even guarding him.
Didn't people say Rose can get points no matter what and he won MVP before Lebron completely shut him down in their series?
Yes, absolutely! Ibaka is leading the league in block shots at over 3 per game. And he is causing many more shots. Plus D.Howard has been getting that award for like 3 years in a row. The voters will want to give it to someone else this year.
Durant 51 pts and Westbrook added 40. also Ibaka has a triple double with blocks 14-15-11. HOLY shizz. what a game.
I don't recall that but I'm sure people did. Though seeing as how Durant averages 27 points against Lebron I doubt we'll see the same story.
I dont think they have enough experience...if the other team is weak or just as inexperienced, then they can pull it off with talent alone, but it wouldn't surprise me if SA or Dallas took them out. In the east, i think the Heat will probably beat them. And there's always NY...gotta see how good they are with Melo back in the mix.
