I think it would do Mo a LOT of good if he lost 8-10lbs... It would help him move around without as much pressure, and when he feels fully healed, he can put it back on as muscle/strength.
Frustration is a powerful emotion. I wasn't there, but I surmise that he didn't want to say anything that would be interpreted as negative while he deals with these feelings. K.T. did the same and has come around by playing hard. I believe you mistake my support of Mo as a shot at K.T. Stow those assumptions -- I like K.T. on this team as well. I believe Mo can play with the BIG boys while K.T. can really explode playing against the opposition's second string because they tend to be more his physical size but certainly not his competitive size.
a vet? moi? I guess . . . I sign my name. . .. well . . out of habit. . . and see no real Reason to change as for hating? if you wanna see hatred check the hundreds of trade KT Posts out there Rocket River
Mo...work hard, practice hard. If you aren't playing, be a role model for the young Griff. Teach him some of those offensive moves. School him in professionalism. Teach him to learn from your mistakes. But remember Mo, the Rocks don't like people who rock the boat (especially when the boat is steamin' along). We'll ship your ass out of here in a sec. Just ask MadMax or Quitten.
I agree with thumbs, that talking positively about a player, is often misconstrued as denying the other player. It doesn't always work that way. declan is spot on about the fan favorite thing. And I will add to that that some fans actually don't want to be wrong on the bbs, so will look for negatives in a man's game and invent personalities (selfish/attitude problems) rather than admit that a player is improving or proving them wrong. Shouldn't you want to be wrong about being negative about a player??? I was surely glad to be wrong about Cato. Show me proof of KT complaining about PT. This is invented. The whole malcontent thing is an invention. I always read it as cockiness that KT simply believed he was the best PF in camp...and well, he's proving it to me. Obviously, MoT blasting out the lockerroom after our biggest win of the year is showing as much as anything we've seen from KT. Griffin actually was quoted saying he wants more minutes, too. KT doesn't really talk about minutes; he just plays. btw: I think it is pretty cool of KT to not give any quotes afterwards, and after the Hornets game he praised Moochie for the PnRs to set him up for all those slams. He said, "I credit Moochie for getting me off in the game." you have to like his performance the last two games, right?...the passing/rebounding/slashing slams. We also want Mo back and Eddie to mature. I think I'm one of the few here who thinks thel three of them can coexist, especially if we can return KT to the 3 without giving up too much defense at the 4. The reason I love KT is I honestly believe he is the smartest player on the rockets (considering all facets of the game) with the most fundamentally strong game and eager to get better. Yao will likely surpass him in putting smarts to use...but I honestly believe KT is very court savvy and executes what the coach ask...albeit he is not a stud PF to execute his ISOs in Brand-like fashion, but that doesn't make him stupid, in my book. I don't really want to argue this savvy point, I just like to talk about bballers who seem to know the game. The much improved 5-man motion game is bringing this talent out of KT the last two games. I get discouraged when I see so many bbs'ers bask KT for being a stupid malcontent. I've always thought Mo was a motion player as well...and smart enough for it. But I don't have enough evidence, like I've seen with KT. But, regardless, we can definitely always use that Mo jumper and dribbling and finishing. He can be a handful
I like MoT alot. I hope he doesnt get too upset for not playing last game. I read in the chronicle that he went straight to the locker room and left right away with out saying anything to anyone, he was gone when the resst of the team got to the locker room following the game. MoT is a great player, once he gets his stroke back he should be back on the court. Work and u'll get there big fella. ~~~~100% Mo Taylor Suporter~~~~
why are we using KennyT so much?! And the coaching staff is liking his playing? I thought we werent going to keep him after this year. I mean, we opted out from resiging him...so uhhh.... why are we playing him? I dont think its to show him off for a trade, becasue if that is it, in the process we are also hurting some of our other players such as EG and MOT, by not giving them KT's P.T. This has me all messed up, i dont understand it.
I think that people are reading too much into the "no contract extension" thing. The Rockets want to see how he co-exists in a rotation with MoT and Griff, and how many minutes he's getting. Then they make their offer accordingly. Don't forget, KT is a restricted FA (much like Marc Jackson two off-seasons ago), and we can match any offer another team makes to him, and keep him.
Because MoT can't score (last 5 games, 31%FG) and Eddie's still not there. Face it...we're lucky to have a third option.
Yes, all first round draft picks are restricted free agents after their team option 4th year is finished. Uprising, it can be purely a negotiating situation. Kenny and his agent likely asked for more yrs and/or money than the Rockets wanted to commit to right away. I don't think it means anything about not wanting him, necessarily. imo, we not only need him to cover for Eddie and Mo (which has been key to our success recently, and certainly our defensive success), but also as insurance for a Rice injury, again.
alright cool, well that clears things up a bit more. now that the rocks still have chance to keep him.
All 15 Rockets are....Rockets. They comprise the team. As such, they are all my favorites. If you have children, don't you love them all? I'll bet that Rudy sometimes feels like a masculine protagonist in "Sophie's Choice." They all have their roles, and they are all important to the success of the TEAM. It's perfectly fine to speculate on the merits of players and minutes and strategies, but not one of them "sucks" or isn't a very capable player. I agree with Heypartner in that, when Cato proved the bulk of the board to be wrong, I don't know of anybody who is unhappy for his resurgence. When considering trades this summer, I always had K.T. out the door. Now I am very glad he's here, and I hope he stays here.
yep, i gots love for all the rocket players, and i also like collier, but he keeps reminding me of Chris dudley, and luc longley
It will be interesting to see how all this plays out. Right now we'd be stupid to trade away KT. If he continues to score and PASS as well as he has recently (I am more impressed with 6 assists than 27 points; Yinka Dare, BE-GONE!), well, great for the team, but we'll have Mo on the sidelines collecting his paychecks and the team telling him not to spend his $8 mil-per-year-average on Twinkies (t.m., this name used with express written consent of the Hostess company, all rights reserved).
Ok, it was only a matter of time before I commented on my buddy Mo T. He is sitting on the end of the bench for 2 reason... 1) He is coming off an absolutely devastating injury. The odds of him coming back to his pre-injury form (not that that form was so great to begin with) are slim and none. Be happy if he EVER averages over 8-10 points and 4 rebounds during any year he has left on his contract. 2) He still sucks. He is out of shape. He serves no purpose for us. When I say he serves no purpose, I mean that before we had Yao, he could at least put a body on an opposing center and maybe make the opposing center guard him on the perimeter. There isn't a 4 in the league that he can guard or that is worried about guarding him. KT and hopefully Boki seem to be the future at the 3...Mo has no position unless we suffer a major injury. My usual disclaimer... I hope I'm wrong because "W's" are the most important thing regardless of who we have on the floor. However, you can no longer blame last season on not having Mo.
About the injury--didn't Nique Wilkens tear an achillies yet return as an older, still explosive, effective player. Given Mo's game has never been predicated on his hops or quickness like Nique's was, and Mo is well below 30--I see no reason he can't return to where he once was. the PF numbers game--Contrary to HP I don't see how EG, KT and MT can co-exist for long, at least as long as back-up C minutes are gobbled up by Cato, and while Rice is playing. Remember we also have TM and Hawk that can play back-up 3 minutes (and do it cheaply), and hopefully within a year or so Boki needing and deserving heavy 3 minutes. In the near and lond term there really may not be many extra 3 minutes for KT or EG nor situational extra C minutes for Mo or EG--and Mo or KT are just two expensive and good to be insurance policies who don't get minutes in regular circumstances. I basically think one of our PFs, or Cato will go within the year. I'd also rather not lose KT for nothing this offseason. Unless a great trade comes along (something like a package for Brand) with EG as the meat I think we should trade Mo or KT, though nothing personal against either one, it is a numbers game.
